Any britbongs around that might be able to answer whether the UK Bloodborne: Game of the Year Edition actually still gets regular English prints for the case/cover, or are all of them now going out of their way to profuse how mudslime-friendly they are? Been debating on importing a copy because that version avoids includes the DLC bundled on disc, and fuck giving Sony money at this point (and of course NA never got cleared for a physical complete), but it seems like almost all copies I see people selling online as exports are - or at least, lazily reuse the same stock photos of - the dunecoonrune cover print instead. I'm playing Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner Raidou Kuzunoha Vs The Soulless Army. What do the yellow and purple stat points mean? On Raidou, I can tell yellow are the bonus he gets from his reforged katana, and I heard your demons are more powerful the higher your magic is, so I assume purple is the stat bonus demons get for that since all my demons have the same amount of purple stat points. What are yellow demon stat points? My demons all have varying amounts of them, even the alp I caught that has zero experience and loyalty.

Are the stat caps set in stone at 40 each? I know some SMT games go higher but just don't display them. I only need to use 12 more incense to be able to max all stats at 40 by level 99, not counting katana bonuses, so I was wondering if I should start saving my incenses for my end game demons?

What's the limit on sacrificial fusion? You're told you can only do it a limited number of times, but aren't given this limit. Is it some single number like 10, or is it just that you can't sacrifice a demon that would push the receiving demon's stats beyond their limit? If the latter, can't you super power up your demons extremely easily by dumping low level demons into them?

I started the game on my laptop where the unit size was set to low but then wanted to play it on my desktop when I normally play with unit size set to ultra. however after saving that game to steam cloud and playing it on my desktop the units are still stuck at low.

For PS4 it seems the clincher is Bloodborne and Gravity Rush.

I found Bloodborne very enjoyable and have heard very good things about Gravity Rush.

For Switch I don't know what the current iteration of AC is like, and I haven't played Splatoon or its sequel, but they both look fun in their own right. Breath of the Wild is the real console mover, and it is astounding when you first pick it up and start exploring, but it becomes more hohum the longer you play it. It's a perfect early peaker. It was still plenty fun though. Mario Odyssey was as well despite some misgivings.

Really both consoles have a lot to offer. The thing putting the PS4 ahead, I think, is that I think it has more pc multiplats with games that have Denuvo. Nier Automata comes to mind in particular since it has both Denuvo and a god awful port.

You can play BoTW on PC with Cemu the emulation is almost perfect and it has better performance, same with the first Splatoon. Crash Bandicoot on PC doesn't have denuvo but MHW does. DKTF still has some problems with emulation but you can play Donkey Kong Country Returns on Dolphin with no issues which is a very similar game. Is really up to you. I'd pick up the switch for the portability and Smash but there have been rumors of a switch 1.5 going around for a while now.

I do suggest you play 1 and 2 first but 3, 4, and 5 are all really good games (3 has some censorship and removed content, so if you know moon I suggest the Japanese verison, honestly if you know moon I suggest Japanese versions for all of Yakuza, there are even some games they made that never came out in english).

I have a Slim and I stand by it being the best if you don't care about playing PS2 games (which I do on my PS2), but the Super slim doesn't have as many moving parts (namely the disc drive slides open instead of feeding the disc in) so less things to break. I have a 250gb regular slim. Works out nicely for me, and of course you can replace the hard drive with a larger one (as I want to say you can with any model of PS3). All tales games are slightly different in their combat mechanics, but in general for 3D tales:

1) You have a basic attack button, this can be modified with directions (For upper attacks or lower attacks, etc).

2) You have a special attack button a la smash that uses various moves depending on which direction is pressed with it. You can set which moves go to which and generally characters will have a fairly wide selection of stuff they can use.

3) Generally one of the triggers can be held to free run around the battlemap, but otherwise characters will head on a plane toward their intended target. You are incentivized to link attacks together in a way that will keep the enemy locked in hitstun. The only battle menu comes if you want to use items/escape/etc.

The player controls one of the characters, with the rest being controlled by an AI. You have commands you can give to the AI but the quality varies depending on the edition. Hearts R lets you program your allies actions with a system of conditionals (like FFXII). If you're playing on a harder difficulty, expect the AI to die a lot.

Every tales has it's own particular systems on top of this which is unique to that game. These vary in quality, some are quite nice like vesperia's instant kill system. Others are rather not, like Zestria's press the fusion button to win.

I find Tales pretty fun, but then again I've been questioning the quality of my own tastes of late. From my experiences (having played most of the games to be released in English), the best entry points would probably be Eternia, Symphonia, and Vesperia. Symphonia and Vesperia have fairly likable casts, while Eternia is the most fluid and fun of the 2D entries to be brought into English (this isn't to say Eternia's cast is bad, but not having skits out here for it doesn't help matters) and holds up remarkably well. Really depends on what you have best access to, and how far back you want to go.

For the sake of comparison, the 2D games have side scrolling combat on a single plane, similar to Swordcraft Story if you've played that, but with more emphasis on using your skills ("artes") as opposed to them being limited in use, and on party based combat rather than solo. The 3D ones are similar to Star Ocean, having a full instanced field to fight in, but still retain the LMBS aspect of the 2D entries, creating a line of approach and retreat between the character played and the target, with the addition of Free Roaming as a button hold (as of Abyss; Symphonia's caught kind of in the middle) which can allow the player to adjust the line more to their advantage. Here's the thing: Tales being real time JRPGs, there's general refinements made to base of combat. Phantasia SFC and Destiny can feel rather slow (Destiny using a variant of Phantasia's engine), and while Phantasia PS1 does improve the fluidity of physical combat, it's still held back some by spells (anything above basic) and summons interrupting combat as they had prior. Eternia ("Tales of Destiny II" in NA) was the one that pioneered full fluidity to both physical and ranged (and relegates summons to Hi-Ougi/Mystic Arte tier, and thus used more sparingly). And beyond that, if you don't know moon, there's entire games/subseries, that you won't be able to play, and in a number of cases the best versions are still moon only too, between lack of western releases and no fan-translations. Anyhow, if you do start with one of the ones prior to Eternia and find the combat slow, just remember that it gets better down the line. And most Tales games do get more fun as you get access to more artes and/or skills to play around with.

You either have to be a one-man army, or get someone else to do graphics/etc and make a tech-demo and hope you get lucky on Kickstarter. After you have some decent games under your belt, hopefully you can get attention of producers, pitch projects to them, and get paid via that. 99.9% of them just want something marketable (easy, popular brand name, etc), but you could wind up as one of their smaller titles that they basically thing "hey, this is a guaranteed small success. I can get a decent profit on this". Of course the better you do, the more money and freedom a producer will give you.

You're better asking AGDG threads. The path to being a game dev seems very hard, but if it was easy everyone would do it. Can't quite answer my own question there, but I might as well mention some things I've found in my research. Namely that the UPCs differ between prints. I managed to get a non-mud copy by sheer luck (thus the third is one I can personally vouch for), but this might be of use to others:

Only the early "fats" have such support but those have heat issues too and are hard to come by. I have played what I'm guessing is emulated Katamari Damacy (PSN download) but probably not much of an option.

As far as NTSC goes, fat models that originally released with a 20 or 60gb drive have an actual PS2 chip to run PS2 games off of, while all PS3s can read PS1 games, though there are some incompatibilities at times to my knowledge.
