What's some of the best portable games that have some real depth to them? Too many modern portable titles are just a series of corridors and then "deep " RPG mechanics stacked on top of them. Combats button mashing and just as uninteresting.

Would be nice to focus on the DS/3DS/PSP/Vita era since those have the potential for some real gems but rarely get explored.

in pokemon omega ruby and alpha sapphire you can dive underwater, it doesn't get deeper than that

Whats the appeal of DQ? I tried Joker on the DS and it sucked. The translation and voice acting style is painful in larger games. It's like someone from Liverpool wrote it as he pronounced it.
