Lemme write something for Bishoujo.
From a technial stand point, it is head and shoulders above over VNs. The backgrounds are highly detailed, the character sprites all have fine lines and excellent shading, the music is well done, all high quality. Sex scenes are long and varied if it felt like checking off boxes like feet, Dom that kinda thing.
The actual story I have to spoiler
The VN is 90% sex and you're going to have sex with this prideful vampire girl. Now, the initial sex which was basically rape was awkward but once Kirie wakes Sensei up with a BJ in the morning, that's when he switch has been flipped and she goes from Vampire to Succubus. Sense pushing her to progressively lewder things and they have this mistress/servant relationship that she acknowledges at first but it becomes more than that and you can tell by her being startled when Sensei says he loves her. Her personality of going from extreme tsun -> tsun -> tsun but I like your dick -> tsun but I like you -> I like you. That progressiveness of their relationship really did link all the scenes together and made it a good story. The CG are also really well done, one scene having over 100 different images with the various expressions, good stuff.
Some of my favorite moments:
>Sensei gets her to beg multiple times, lowering her pride even further.
>Coupled with the bullying made for some good scenes.
>Kirie goes 3 rounds and the seiyuu has her barely speaking comprehensible words because she's so addled by pleasure. Also seiyuu saying Sensei when asking for more.
>Best part has to be that second to last. Missonary, she's looking at Sensei lovingly and then the hearts start appearing in the text. That's when you knew she loved Sensei.
>Scene after the end where she asks to be impregnated with hearts, made that even better.
I don't usually play straight eroge but this really is good. Only thing I wanted more was more development of the relationship, then it'd be almost perfect.

The hentai is TRASH and literally only includes all the Bad Ends (almost all of them) and skips key plot points and characters.
The game, on the other hand, is one of if not the single best Black Lilith title ever made. The entire game is about a poor shmuck who's on a school trip and gets abducted by slavers only to stumble across the path of the wicked city's famous and most dangerous underground private detective–who is also an infamous witch.
From point one it's a journey of one ~tiny head protag becoming a man, being there for his woman and earning his woman while routinely protecting her smile.
Also there's a mystery going on about a mutated demon thing known as the "werewolf", a really ditzy schoolgirl who lights up a bar with an uzi because she's scared of being raped by literally everything, a powerful demon who wants to murderize the protag because she wants Annerose all to herself, the demonic Chinese mafia with ninjas, and other things.
Honestly it's a surprisingly fun game. Nothing to write home about in terms of plot turns and overall writing (like every Lilith game it's very simple) but for a nukige it's really surprisingly fun and I guarantee you will fall for Annerose as a character.
Like it was mentioned in /hgg/, "Steel Witch Annerose" is basically the exact opposite of Taimanin Asagi 3.

On the one hand this seems to be the first actual reclamation thing (it's not a game if it has NO choices) but it's a kinetic novel (again, NO choices) and you don't actually de-slut the slut. You do get to watch a fumbling cuck get trained into being the a sexual beast by the neighborhood bike he should have confessed to from the start, and she takes initiative calling it off with other guys and accepting his confession, but she never ceases to be gyaru and she keeps making jokes about how if he doesn't satisfy her sexual drive she might get frustrated and cheat on him.
I get it's a "she is so in love that it's utterly absurd she would ever cheat on him, so the joke is funny" but it just reminds me of what a wimp he was and how she rode the sausage train all around town.
The only good thing is that moment of sincerity when she regrets he never confessed to her earlier and how fragile she gets when asking him, twice, if he really is alright with a girl like her. That was sweet. The humor throughout was pretty fun, too.
3/10 no choices, no de-slutification, but fun moments and good CGs

Steins is always a good choice but I'm a fan of Ever17. As I said each girl has different elements and themes that feed back into the main story of them trapped underwater. It starts pretty small in scope with the individual paths but once you go through them and get on the coco's path, it all comes together and makes sense. You'll have about 40 questions by the end and it answers 39 of them.
Remember, each girl has a theme and said theme feeds into the story. You may not get it straight away but you'll smack you head when it makes sense.

Once you get shields for the Sunrider, you can become immune to laser and box keeps AA fixed around at least 3 characters which means you have a good chance of killing the missle spam they send your way. Extra and Unlimited is the setup and there are details not explored in Alternative because it's assumed you already know them when playing Alternative. As I've said before everything from Alternative loses it's edge and meaning without reading the prior 2 parts. There is one character who never has any character development in Alternative and you will never connect with that one without reading Extra no matter how many heartstrings it tries to pull on you. certain characters turning out to be assholes is only really going to get to you if you've read both, there is an entire ongoing set of clues about Takero you'd never notice if you didn't read anything before Alternative, most of the cast dieing was specifically planned with you interacting with them before in Unlimited.
This is how the trilogy goes about it's story telling and if you can't understand that then you shouldn't even bother reading Alternative either and just go look up a picture of Marimo's new face job.

There are some yuppies that force themselves through Extra despite having no interest in it or gained enjoyment out of it, but I would say that most actual muv-luv fans genuinely liked Extra and Unlimited.
Speaking for myself, I genuinely like Extra. It's easygoing vanilla romantic comedy. I really appreciate childhood friend romances and noble rich girls, so it was up my alley. I've heard some people don't like the hyperbolic humor and typical character types. But muv-luv isn't just some Warhammer lore book, it's a VN, so if you don't like the writing and characters you're probably shit out of luck.
I should also mention that Extra and unlimited probably shouldn't be mixed together despite being in the same game, because in tone and narrative they are very different.

This might not be the best thread to ask in, but I'm at the end of my rope here and any possibility of help would be appreciated. I've recently torrented the fuwanovel release of Kamidori Alchemy Meister. However, after the tutorial (or alchemist exam) starts, the game consistently hangs and crashes at the part where I have to interact with that white glowing thing (whose name escapes me at the moment.) I've tried installing CCCP, running as admin, playing with various settings, and torrenting it from a seperate source and none of them have worked. If anyone at all has an inkling of what the issue could be, please share it. I was very much looking forward to trying this one.
Also, so this post isn't completely off topic: I've recently started playing the first Grisaia and was wondering if the choices from that game carry over to the sequels. Does anybody know? Yumiko's route has been surprisingly good so far. I was expecting her to be a disappointment.

Nope, choices don't carry over into Labyrinth. The choices towards the end of the common path actually determines who's path you get onto. There are a few more personal ones after that but they usually determine which ending you get. Grisaia is more a kinetic novel than a VN. Each of the girls has an afterstory, Yumiko's is pretty funny but what happens in the common path of Labyrinth is that Yuuji has helped all the girls. He resolved their problems and they did have sex (with all of them) but he didn't commit to any of them. Part of the Grisaia series is that Yuuji has taught the girls skills, some obvious some just getting them to cultivate a will of their own. These will help them through Labyrinth and Afterglow.

I have. The crashes he describes in that post you linked are problems that I also had when trying to run it with applocale, but stopped after I just switched the system locale setting. I've searched all over, but I haven't found any mention of crashes in-game or in the tutorial.

Yeah, that makes sense considering the wide range of possibilities. I watched the anime, so I figured that all the routes would follow the same general flow of events. I was surprised when Yumiko's route went so off the rails like when the game just up and reveals that you've run off with her and months have passed. In all these years, I've never quite gotten used to how often Japanese media likes to pull the "suddenly a long time has passed card."

Well, I've downloaded and installed the game in the order of steps you listed there, and it still doesn't work. It somehow still remembered my saves and settings, too (pic), even though the self contained version was in a completely different directory from the manually installed one. Also, I've found out that it also crashes when entering combat. I think it probably has something to do with the video codec settings, since I've heard that LAV Splitters need to be disabled for mpeg video in CCCP, however I've done that and get crashes all the same. I've even tried uninstalling CCCP, and still the same crashes. I appreciate the help you've given me but it might just be more expedient to try my luck with wine.

Katawa Shoujo was my first VN, if I remember correctly. Full on VN, that is, I played Sengoku Rance before it. I went into it blind, and my first route (Emi's) completely shocked me with how it went to sex and how quickly. From my quick searching around it seems Ecstasy was never translated.
There is the latest "English Edition" on (((Steam))) that is based off of the Perfect Edition with HD CGs from the Converted Edition (the PS3 port), unfortunately it's missing the h-scenes and has some images censored and I have no idea about the quality of the translation.
So my options are: Read the one in the starter kit but miss out on the extra routes and content, or find a copy of the Steam version I'm not paying 40 fucking monopoly money for a 10+ year old VN but it's censored. So now that I have calmed down after that twisted gut-punch of an ending, I have noticed some very important things, namely the reflection of the protag and Maiko's brother.

On the subject of money, she subtly suggested poisoning their parents and provided her brother with the poison. She is not the one who murdered her brother.
>Maiko's brother was a friend of the protag. He inherited his parent's fortune. He purchased the Loli and had her transported via ship from Europe to Japan. He was found dead and, apparently, was murdered.
>Loli is said to be an angel (not definitive). Her existence/presence seems connected to the Red Grass (but in one ending when she is taken to Shanghai there is no Red Grass). Normal food poisons her. She awakens and can have her memories erased via piano music. She subsists on particular nectar which is fed to her via mouth-to-mouth. Being in intimate contact with her leads the protag to biologically and mentally alter, making him incapable of desiring another woman, of eating other food, sleep changes, etc. She is friendly with Maiko. The pianist/butler is not.

I can bet my left kidney the OminiLoli, the ominous dream loli the protag sees which forewarns him of doom or danger in most routes, is tied to Maiko. There is of course that other kimono wearing girl which Isaji owns as a rape-slave in the Eyes Wide Shut/Rothschilde party, but she has only appeared in one route so far and overall seems to have nothing to do with anything, whereas Maiko not only knows most (if not all) of what has and is happening but she also has too many connections to the natural mysteries of the story (parent death, brother who was murdered, owning the Loli, connections to the Eyes Wide Shut/Rothschilde party, etc.).
If we want to get to the heart of the truth, it's time we stop concentrating on either the imouto or the Loli and begin setting sail toward Titty Monster Isle. I know we want the Loli and Imouto most, but whereas we got a good (though post-gangrape) ending with the imouto and got a good (except for BOMBING) end for Loli, we have no routes or endings for Maiko. She is at the center of this. She is the key. I guarantee it.

The true end only got around 7 or 8 scenes and they were mostly crammed in later, with many taking place directly after the other once the credits were over, there could've at least been more of an epilogue so I wouldn't get dick rash.
The start didn't have much going on in terms of choices, there's no branching that starts within the first two and a half hours, heavily incentivizing me not to play that part again. As for character it goes from Riku's first day to six months into the apocalypse and things just feel rushed. Despite that I say nothing is going on because it's mostly slice of life shit that doesn't further the main plot, and a few character foreshadows which they should've done more of as that was some the best parts in the beginning.
I will say that the middle once the story started kicking in was much better and I liked a few of the twists towards the end.
At least this purged my desire to experience any other Lilith game if this is their best.

So, this was made by Success, and old company that made VNs for the PS2. Aoi Shiro was their first PC port before they went under. They're still around but haven't released anything in a decade. Or they do but it's just Mobage stuff.
Anyway, plot is Osanai Shouko or just Osa and her Kendo club are traveling to a place and staying at a temple for a field trip. The nearby island however called Urashima is the supposed resting place of a Demon that was sealed a long time ago. They arrive just in time for a recreation of that ceremony to take place and an approaching storm is coming as if heralding bad events.
Now the set-up could be for some kind of eroge but it isn't, it's completely clean. I went in expecting yuri because it had the tags and while there is some, most of the stuff that happens is demon related. I'd say it's more like Fate in that when the <<Sword>> (yes, that's it's name) shows up, the various actors come out and try to claim it, with alot of fights taking place.
It does drag on a bit though, too many scenes there they eat food and alot of bad endings but I wanted yuri and I got demons, sword fighting, a decent mystery and a pretty good soundtrack, so I still listen to the tracks because they were really good. Nami is best girl.

You would need to prove that the inspection happens to be from California and not the Japanese branch. When they are talking about English they mean the Global Branch's they have to submit to. For example you have to submit to US/EU branch, Japanese branch, Chinese branch so on and so fourth. It's a pain in the ass. Japan is not the wonderful place where they accept Eroge and Hentai freely on every platform, in public stores, to play on and they allow it to be sold.
