I bought because my friend wanted me to play it with him, and it seems like a neat concept overall. Though after playing, found out that it wasn't that great, so I refunded it. Just seemed too slow paced for me personally. I wouldn't get it if you don't have anyone to play it with, and if you do, make sure they know what they are doing at the very least.

Played 10 hours of it.

Short version: The lack of feedback during a match makes it a bore fiesta as the game highly encourage camping.

Longer version:

The main game-play fantasy is that five teams of pairs, racing to hunt down a PvE boss monster, kill it & extract themselves without getting killed by the other players.

So naturally a viable strategy is to wait around the boss arena and shot whoever slay the monster or kill them while they are occupied by killing said monster.

And that could be a fun risk/reward system, but as a player you never have the means to assert the risks due to the lack of feedback.

You know 10 players enters the match, but never know if a player leaves the match (either by dying or exit through a extraction point, which you can do anytime).

So when you get to the boss arena you don't know the odds or risk of another group of players waiting for you is.

That just further encourage you ALSO to sit around the boss arena and wait for another group of people to enters the boss arena.

So there is A LOT of down time of people sitting down and trying to get the drop of another group of people without any penalty to it. There is a time limit per match of 45 minutes, but if that is spend on sitting down hurdle in a corner I frankly can't much see the point of this game.

A solution could be to let the player know how many players who is still in the match, so you at least could make some kind of risk assessment.

Because too many times my duo partner and I have been waiting out and felt like we played against no other people in the match, only to get shot as we engage the boss, because someone wanted to play the game less than we did.

I did try to address this as feedback, but the community didn't want any of that. Stating that would hurt the "realism" of the game.

Well, if they either made it full pvp or pve I think the game would be 100 times better.

It feels gritty and brutal in many aspect, you are slow, vulnerable and easily deposed off.

Even some of the common mobs can fuck you up easily if you are caught off guard.

That I like very much.

But because you don't want to draw notice by either the mobs or other players, you usually just sneak around most PvE encounters, so even fighting mobs is hardly an feature. So you sneak around everything until you find the boss arena and then you hunker down, hoping that some other team either walks into your line of fire or activate the boss, so you can go in and clean up the after match.

Also, pretty sure from something I saw that it announces when the boss is started by somebody. What if it didn't do that? Now it is viable to rush the map to try to find the boss. If someone sneaky shoots you, so be it- but if you get to the boss early and nobody knows, you can kill it and get out before anybody knows what's up.

Sneaking seems forced ,every enemy makes noise if you are around , a lot of shit on the ground that makes noise , crown ,dogs ,chicken

but if you ignore it and start running your fps will drop by half because of loading in

The matchmaking is split to 1-30 ,30-50 and 50+(and prestige) ,So if you play with a friend that has rank 100 or prestige you are fucked against rank 100 people with automatic Mosin Naganat(20 round mag) and Dolch(Mauser 96) vs your one barrel shotguns and revolvers , there is no profit from prestige so they will stay rank 100

You can spend 30mins sneaking and get killed by this Mosin or if you are alone/low on money your weak weapons can't protect you from rushing dogs that will fuck you up (4/5 on duo 2 o solo), The money goes out quick ,you try spending to win against the rank 100 ,and you are basically putting your money on Who Sees First , because there is no armor in the game ,this is why it feels like Tarkov ,zombies instead of scavs , the only difference is you don't get 5man discord faggots .and here you can at least use the in game voice which Tarkov doesn't have so you can't group in game

DO NOT play any of this shit without real and good friends ,or you will be forced to team up with random people on Discord and Teamspeak just to not die

The only game I know now handling the balance good is Squad , you have in game voice split into squad/proximity/squad leaders ,squads are of 9people , you can sneak around and kill 5 dudes because they didn't communicate or you can get fucked,everyone has the same gear except for role specific , but because better gear or lvl can't be a factor you can see really well how retarded people are ,They won't teamwork , they will troll and make your team loos vehicles , flags or time ,There are vehicle squad that take APC's and only attack without doing personnel carrier ,superfobers that spend the match playing minecraft and will sacrifice forward flags because they don't want to move out ,snipers will never have your back ,there are guides that take 5mins to read that make you a lot better, and there is no official servers so if you call someone a faggot for playing bad or some clan doesn't like you can get banned from playing

Someone can say "you care about games to much" but I fucking know these "people" act the same way outside of games and it makes me hate them

Since muzzle loaders are generally using 70 caliber though, it'd have to be a one hit kill if they get you somewhere squishy- and for monsters it'd be a kill or at the very least extremely debilitating.

Something interesting to have, in terms of anticheat, is a program that detects stuff like discord and mumble and blocks them while the game is open. You'll still have fags that will buy a second computer just so they can cheat while playing, but it eliminates most of the clanfaggots.

I meant the system as a way to force people to use the ingame voip/ chat which is proximity based. Another option would be to have the software always be listening to the user's mic while the game is open and thus broadcast.

Indeed. Like I already said, this is solved by not globally revealing objectives and objective holders. It should be possible to sneak inside a building and banish a spider demon, and then run off with nobody knowing - they'll then just get the prompt that they lost. You might see lights or something from the fight if the boss has powers or there's gunshots, but otherwise it should be possible to stealth that.

The the goal of a multiplayer game is to get players to interact with one another.

So I dunno how I feel about letting players stay in the unknown of how the match is proceeding.

Just think that the objective that the players are fighting for is bad in a way where the initiator of the boss almost always will be at a disadvantage during and right after the encounter.

They need to punish passive play, so people don't rewarded for other teams taking greater risk than themselves.

They are just creating a PR problem for themselves when the people who want to use their cool voice mechanics complain about the people who don't talk to them and only use Dicksword. Could have a portal in a building which leads to some kind of bog area. The boss is the thing keeping this hellportal open which lets the other critters come into the world. Others coming in after have to solve some kind of maze first maybe, so this rewards the first people who enter with some time to fight the boss before there are interlopers.

I suggested that the boss moved to another arena (teleported away) after a threshold is met damage wise, that would mean that players waiting outside would have to choose either to move to a new location or camp the exist for the people currently in the now abandoned boss arena, risking another group of players reaching the new boss location and getting away with the loot.
