That's the story of this generation Anon, it isn't unique to this game, nor this company, nor this product, nor this product.
That said, it's a simple answer that has been repeated a thousand times: creativity and thought aren't profitable. Pushing boundries or increasing the general intelligence of the public is stupid, it's much easier to just go over a checklist of what everyone wants and ship it out for everyone to shove between their fat gullets.
That said, I love breakdown. I think it's one of the few games that I can think of that implemented first person hand to hand in a meaningful and unique way. And also the only game I can think of that has first person throw up.
