What is your favorite Bond game?
Mine is NightFire.
1e187c No.15526117
Should've added "except GoldenEye", since that's what 99% would probably say.
Agent Under Fire was ok I guess, apart from the fact it lacked Brosnan's likeness. Nightfire was great, and Everything or Nothing was criminally underrated. Apart from the PS2 game with Connery in it, everything made since has been unequivocally shit. I really don't get it, considering 007 has been arguably the best movie franchise to translate into a video game one.

GoldenEye.
But failing that, probably Nightfire. I think it was the one that had the hot blonde Aussie chick with the massive rack.
It was the only remotely memorable one that I've played since. I was interested in checking out some other Bond games on Steam recently but they've all been taken down, licensing issues I guess.
You'd think just making another spiritual sequel on the already existing GoldenEye/Perfect Dark template would be a simple enough thing, but fucking nobody does it.

Gamecube Nightfire. Definitely not the PC version that one sucked ass. Splitscreen Nightfire was so fun, the OST memorable, and the campaign was fun. Rest in Peace Dominique and hot asian chick

Nightfire. It has one of the best FPS iterations of a Megabuster I know of. Though Agent Under Fire has grappling hooks, jet packs, and low gravity mode. Enable all 3 and it's like and FPS Attack on Titan with you and your friends Spidermaning around and trying to tag each other with explosives mid-swing or leap.

Nightfire for me as well, because I used to play that with my dad all the time that and Melee. Might have to crack it out again sometime.

Well there was the TimeSplitters series, it even had the same guys who worked on Goldeneye. Now that THQ Nordic owns the rights maybe we'll at least see an HD remaster.

Anyone play the Goldfinger 64 hack? It's pretty fun.
I liked that all the EA games with an original plot explicitly shared a universe. Everything or Nothing is actually worse off for having Brosnen playing Bond though. He's so blatantly paid by the line so he has minimal dialog outside of confirmations that reuse voice clips. He barely has any good dialog (though the line about playing bridge was great).
Frankly I'm amazed Activison fucked up so badly with the Bond license they killed it. Literally all they had to do was make a non-shit shooter, possibly with some driving segments, and they couldn't fucking do that.

How did they fuck up 007 Legends? No one ever seemed to gave a straight answer, and been wanting to play it just see "the travesty".

I was thinking about trying out the other Activision ones as well, but I'm just disgusted that I have to deal with Daniel Craig. Worst Bond and a cocksucker that didn't deserve the role. QoS the game was a weak CoD clone that covered that film and Casino Royale. I beat it in a single day and it was so generic you'd be hard pressed to say much of anything about it.
195db9 No.15527390
What non-movie Bond game do you think had the best original plot?
Agent Under Fire was a cartoony supervillainy cliche (I will replace all the world leaders with clones, zen I will rule ze world!) but charming enough for the relatively low budget the game seemed to have. I think Nightfire's was legit good and had some fun twists. Everything or Nothing was trying too hard, though the connection to A View to a Kill was nice even if it does raise all sorts of questions by making Brosnen share a canon with Moore.
809e5b No.15527400
>>15527390
The different actors were always considered the same canon. Except Craig, even though he has the same M. And then we're supposed to give a shit when she dies, even though most of the movies she was in are in the other continuity, so the one that dies is a different person who we don't know nearly as well. Fuck Craig Bond.

Yes, that's my point. Brosnan's movies tried to justify things like that, because there was continuity. Craig's movies tried to have their cake and eat it too, doing things that make it a reboot, while having other elements carry over. Wanting the audience to buy it's a reboot when it's convenient, but act like the other movies count in this continuity when that's convenient. You could say Skyfall takes place after a huge timeskip so that it takes place after the Brosnan movies, and Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace were prequels, but then that doesn't explain M being in those two movies, and Spectre then invalidates everything with Spectre from the old movies. I know they don't intend anyone to be this autistic with James Bond, but fuck it. At least do me the decency of having a spinoff comic or something where James Bond has to fight the Anti-Monitor and time gets rewritten to fudge over plot inconsistencies like in all my other long running series.
5cbd97 No.15527547
>>15527486
I think the Craig games actually did the grunt work to lampshade those inconsistencies because, at least with Goldeneye 007 and reading up a bit on 007 Legends, they rewrite the canon and try to say that the events of the previous films (At least those of the rewritten Goldeneye, and the 6 films in Legends), and this probably also includes the events of Blood Stone, all happened between QoS and Skyfall.

Going over an old Bond's Cold War era files in the present day is a framing device I'd really like to see something use. Between imagination of the reader, stuff that got [redacted] and Bond being an unreliable narrator in his debriefing there's be a lot of room to play with any inconsistencies.

It is simply painfully generic. If this game did not have the bond name, you might not recognize it except for a few cutscenes. They also used Craig as the face of bond for every mission, even though the game is supposed to go through all the "eras".
809e5b No.15527598

I get using Craig in every mission since it's supposed to be a single character. But do they at least have alternate skins? If not, I have to assume it's because of licensing reasons, though.

I'm liking driving around in the Bond pack DLC for Forza Horizon 4 at the moment. Grinding up the skills for the car from Goldeneye. They're supposed to have gadgets and shit from the movies in them viewable, but haven't fiddled around in photo mode to see them.
