Things being shit is what gives me hope. It's easier to make something good when everything else is shit.

>industry is bad
Good morning, sunshine. Where have you been when book, music and film industries were always shit? The best thing we can do is to support independency by making better tools, get rid of everything that gives (((them))) power. Replace the actors with neural-network generated faces and voices or make tools that make it possible to create these things. Make the animation tools more robust to throw out motion capture. Improve the tools for texture creation to remove the need in photographers. Once everyone can make games without leaving their room, there won't be any need in the industry. Bandcamp and SoundCloud, though far from perfect, made it possible to be an indie musician and earn money. Same should happen with computer game developers.
