how to install?

the server IP has changed to being just the website
to be able to connect, simply replace the IP number on your windower4 profile to the website address ffera.com
as mentioned in the last episode, we're playing on a private server named ERA at ffera.com, that offers you the chance to play with 4x times retail experience or vanilla 1x experience with some bonus perks if you so decide, Like a free chocobo whistle and access to some custom shops geared with hard to find stuff. the procedure to decide which way you want to play is also explained in the previous thread archive
Last thread got some very positive results, with several people joining and going as far as hitting level 75 and reaching the Tavnazian safehold.
If you want to relive the 2007 times or never had a chance to play this game, join up and send an ingame message to Nel, Kashiri, Nihmoh, Steez, Garrkelvin, Jem, or Talos so you can get a linkpearl to our shell. the command is /tell 'name' 'message' (without ' '). ie:

Nasomi is much better and the largest of the ffxi private servers. Era is second best especially if you want booste xp rates/run speed and qol, although from what I saw there is more end game drama and glitching/hacking allowed

That's because 14 is a wow clone with boring gameplay.
11 does not have a gay gcd, your skills are determined by job selection and all have individual cooldowns. You start with a choice of 6 basic jobs that you can switch to in town whenever you like, and can unlock advanced jobs with a quest once you have any job at 30. 11 also has a subjob system, which is just selecting a second job that will be at half the level of your main job. It leads to situations where you use sub jobs to enhance the strengths of your main job even further.
What's good about this is it's not a singleplayer game. You can solo but it's much slower, more dangerous, and more boring than getting a party together.

There is a reason most parties for the level cap content in 11 used to run both a red mage and bard. Refresh, MP regeneration, is one of the most helpful things in the game and those two were the only two jobs to get it as a spell.

I played both and simply quit XIV cause it didn't live up to my expectations, either in 1.0 or when it relaunched as ARR.
That said I also prefer retail FFXI, and even though I played FFXI from NA launch to about 2008 or so, I find that the golden age of XI is really hard to want to play without all my friends who were there with me. I was a paladin and had full koenig so it wasn't even that i had bad memories of endgame or anything, I just happen to think golden age XI is absolute trash without dope ass people to suffer with.
