I've been playing Graveyard Keeper pretty much non-stop for the past few days, and as far as I can tell the game is pretty neutral towards most real-world issues. The villagers and most characters doubt science and play up the "dumb peasant" shtick, but there's a character who's focus is science and outright calls the local university out as being shit. Faith is portrayed in a positive light for the most part, since you (as a graveyard keeper) help the people of the village. That said, the Bishop is shown as full of himself and egocentric.
The Inquisition so far seems like the typical portrayal of one - it's a fervent hunt for any and all witches that the monarchy is blaming most of their troubles on. The Inquisitor has a personal vendetta against witches, since his family was killed by them. That said, there really are witches that exist in the game world, one of which you meet and ask for help. The only things that struck me as SJW/"Modern" were the fact that the main character has a faggy haircut, as do some of the little icons for him in the upgrade menu. Also the talking Donkey is a filthy Communist that's played for laughs.

That's far from the truth. Burying corpses is one of your primary sources of income. Also, you need to bury corpses to help the quality of your graveyard, which you need to improve in order to get a better position in the church. I haven't seen exactly how, yet, but chucking bodies in the river is bound to lead to future troubles, as it leads to the major town, and the game tells you that you should really burn corpses you want to get rid of, instead.

It's dogshit. Don't even bother trying it. Everything is made to be as tedious as possible and there's very little depth. It might look fairly open ended from the tech tree but all the prerequisites and intermediate materials everything requires force you to do things in a predetermined order. There's no way to automate anything and the map is huge so you spend 95% of the game either holding a direction key or F to craft.
I don't mean the map is huge in a good way, there's still about the same amount of important locations as a harvest moon game, maybe a little less even, but it's as if they scaled it up by 3 and didn't change the movement speed to compensate. Just moving between areas at your house is a chore let alone going to a shop or the mine. Crafting is tedious too and the only way to improve efficiency is with certain skills of which there are only 2 or 3 and that only work on a one or two items and improved crafting stations that also only work for a handful of items.

Every Harvest Moon game is alright. Even the worst are merely mediocre, it's all up to personal tastes. Harvest Moon 64, A Wonderful Life, Friends of Mineral Town, Animal Parade, Tale of Two Towns, and the new Story of Seasons games have all been pretty fine to me. And of the Rune Factory games, I liked 3 and I hear 4 is pretty good.
