What kind of FOV is this? 45 degrees? How is this acceptable?

This is the kind of shit that gives people motion sickness. I'm spinning my camera around like a ferris wheel just trying to get a grip on my surroundings because I can barely see what's in front of me, let alone what might be right next to me, above me, or below me. Obviously it's a current gen game so I wouldn't be able to miss anything even if I tried, but this is ridiculous.

90 FOV was the standard 20 years ago, and even that is claustrophobic. 120 FOV is what I'm comfortable with, which is almost 3x as much as what (((Telltale))) decided I'm allowed to have. I know we've been over this a thousand times but FOV sliders shouldn't be optional.

Sage me for template thread or shill or whatever.

But the opposite is true for an exploration-based adventure game, which is the majority of the game outside of mostly-scripted "horror" sequences.

The human FOV is ~180, so how come most games have them made to fit 180 fov?

Take any FPS game for example.

In real life you can move your head around and see the buttstock of your gun out of the corner of your eyes but in FPS games the gun is glued to your face and you never see the buttstock.

I can look behind me quite well without having to move my entire body, unlike in FPS games.

TLDR Why don't FPS games have head movement, 180 FOV and peripheral vision?

Lowe FOV means less to render, that's why every console FPS since PS2/XBOX has had a tiny FOV compared to their PC versions. It's necessary for the game to run on console with the graphical fidelity it has. Bad PC ports won't bother changing this.
