One of the few things I like about Warframe is the parkour and movement in general (this could be better if you didn't get stuck on invisible ledges and corners all the time). Another game that supports strong movement is the Souls series, whereas it reinforces the chess game between players. Rocket League is ALL about strong movement. What 3rd person games support the best movement? If possible stick to PVP/PVE multiplayer games. I'd like to find a few new games to play that sport good movement before I start coding my system in unreal. I <3 y'all.

Every game should look to S4 League/Gunz 2 as the golden standard for motion in third person action games. Just fast enough to deny camping tactics with a moderately high skill ceiling and a lot of options for cancelling animations without having the harsh APM requirements of the original Gunz so that just about anyone can play it.

My only gripe with Gunz2 is that it feels weightless, just like warframe. It moves slightly too fast and when attacks connect there is no stagger or confirmation. Also there is no burden of stamina, equipment load, etc.

yes you can pirate games on it. I understand why you might feel that way, but having played them all, watched the OVA, and the little bit of extra DLC I wouldn't be worried about wanting more. Not in a bad way, it's like a well rounded and complete meal, where you're getting everything together after a few hours, and after laying it out, not knowing where to start, but once you finish you feel complete.
Really, the first is a little short, completing in maybe 6 to 10 hours, possible 12-14 doing everything in the game. The sequel is a good 20 hour long experience. The point at which you might feel it's concluding it's just getting to the half way point, and when you take on what appears to be the real ending you'll be delighted to find there's still a good few more hours left in the game in a hidden true ending which unveils a few extra chapters to experience. There's so much to do in 2 it's remarkable how 1 got away with having so little in comparison.

S4 League is all about player movement. You must either parkour through the map with dashing, dodging, wall jumping and using weapon attacks to score touchdowns or dodge the oncoming bullets or attacks and find ways to counter them. Official version of the game is beyond redemption at this point thanks to alaplaya/aeria but there are some private servers available like S4MAX and S4 Competitive working to balance the game and add new content. The catch is though, since this is a really niche game both servers use >disagreement for communication.

NO YOU FUCKING MONGOLOIDS
"Tit's up" is a memetic corruption of the expression "belly up".
You know what happens when a fish dies? It floats with it's belly up.
When something went "belly up", it means it's dead/rekt/seriously fucked.
Tit's up has some origins on the rampant prostitution in the States around 1920: a lot of prostitutes were found in rivers/coastline drowned, and people picked up on it: usually warning non-hooker that they were slutting around and could end up tits up.
which is fucking stupid because the dumb broads didn't float belly/tits up

To this day, Just Cause 2 has not been topped in movement options in an open world game. Combining the parachute and grapple hook lets you reposition yourself anywhere in the area within seconds. Too bad the game isn't very hard, and the gameplay gets pretty repetitive.
EDF 4.1 also should get a mention. The ranger, wing diver, and fencer classes all have unique movement options, which is important when the game boils down to not being swarmed. Without the grinding (which 5 allegedly aids), the game is a joy to just move around in.

How old are you to have never played DMC, Bayonetta, or God Hand? The subgenre is practically built off movement and positioning, to maintain a combo and avoid attacks. Besides, KiD has some of the worst movement of the Suda51 games, Killer7 does it best by keeping it 1 dimensional.

devs being retarded. the nu-system sucks ass because there is barely any effort required to do a bulljump and its slower than what people did before. wall running is turned into some stupid continuous wall hopping. its all just stupid. you get stuck on random geometry more than ever. they removed a bunch of movement tech just for some stupid matrix movie slow down glide where you shoot people mid air and this twirly faggot jump that makes absolutely ZERO sense
however
people have found ways around this conformed movement and the devs, as usual, dont like it and are always finding ways to nerf it.

Jedi Knight Academy is a good one.
The movement is a bit simple to some degree, but it feels really good. Really tall jumps, wall running and jumping, long jumps, all mixed with pretty great melee.
I kinda wish the game was mostly guns, with enemies going crazy with similar movement as well.
>>15167333
I really miss the wall running animation, both vertically and horizontally. I've heard they removed it because it looked weird, but that's fucking stupid.
I also wish there was an actual benefit to pulling off all those tricks, like increased Armor or a chance for your enemies to miss while you bulletjump, or extra damage or crit chance if you shoot when grabbing walls or in bullet jumps.

There's also MGR.
bdfaf3 No.15167486

>almost anything
You mean the select amount of objects they allow you to climb. If you want to get on top of a building, you have to run around it until you find the specific spot the developers put in that allows you to climb up it. Sure, there can be a lot of ways to get to that one spot on the roof, but it's all carefully regulated to prevent you from actually going everywhere.
They also butchered the movement system in 3+, which made it very hard for me to enjoy 4, the last one I played. If the series has better climbing since then, they haven't communicated that clearly.
d693dd No.15167643
>>15167414
>complex
There's nothing complex about running to a surface and holding a button to climb it up, besides looking for the obvious croppings where you can place your feet or grab.
Climbing things is fun and I wish more games included it as a mechanic instead of coping out with the environment being used to justify their invisible walls, but if you're gonna mention climbing, Breath of the Wild is considerably better than any AssCreed game anyway.
Still, neither of them is complex, and that's actually a good thing for both of them since neither is a platformer.

AssCreed movement is complex in what is actually going on, but very simple in terms of what the player does.
If you want to move in a specific direction, you just hold the button/stick for that direction. If you want to climb over objects whilst moving in that direction, you hold the button that makes you automatically climb everything in your path.
It's really good for what it's meant to do (allow smaller terrain details to have a strong effect in how the player moves around in the environment without making the input system any more complex), but it's not a kind of movement that I would call engaging or really enjoyable.
