While i have put over 700 hours into BF4, looking at things from BF3 that they should have added into BF4 angers me. Examples include:
>In BF3, locking onto a jet or helicopter in your own air vehicle actually made a audible beeping noise, with a icon saying "LOCK" over said target. In BF4, there is no noise and you just get the white diamond symbol over the target.
>In BF3, stealth jets had rocket pods, which are not an option for them in BF4. Also, all air vehicles had "Below Radar" where you could not get locked onto if your flying under 25m or less. BF4 lacks that, making it easy to be locked on and killed no matter where you go.
>In BF3, a large variety of transport vehicles and jets are in the game yet in BF4, 2 stealth jets are gone from the multiplayer, several LAV's are gone, the Russian molbile rocket truck is replaced with the American one, and all variations on the Humvee and Vodnik trucks are gone.
>The Russian vehicles in BF3 all had a different HUD compared to thier American counterparts, whereas in BF4 all vehicles get the same HUDs for all 3 factions. Dirt and grime also was visible on the BF3 tank and LAV huds but in BF4 they are unrealistically clean.
>The air vehicle minimap in BF3 was a circle with a compass built into it, making it unique. In BF4, that is gone and all air vehicles share the same generic minimap.
>The meter that showed when you would unlock your next attachment for a gun in BF3 near your health is gone in BF4. Your health meter is now just a number instead of the percentage and heartbeat moniter seen in BF3.
>Blue filter/tint is gone in BF4 and replaced with a orange/grey one, making scenes look dull.
>The Second Assault maps are fine save for Operation Firestorm, where in BF3 it was bright and sunny with oil fires in the distance. In BF4, it's near sunset and no oil fires in the distance, and Gulf Of Oman, where the sandstorm was horrible and made the map complete shit.
>Alot of the multiplayer soldier voice lines are gone in BF4. In BF3, soldiers would curse/swear and yell with panick and fear quite a lot where in BF4, all the soldiers stay calm and seldom curse, and don't have the funny voice lines from BF3.
>Several vehicle upgrades are gone in BF4, such as passanger countermeasures from attack helicopters, reactive armor being always on tanks and not falling off once shot with an explosive, the CITV station on tanks being gone, TV missiles and TOW missiles being gone from tanks, and more.
>A complaint from BF3 and BF4 is that in BF2, air vehicles would spawn on an aircraft carrier on maps that had one, which was really cool. BF3 still had that on some maps but in BF4 spawing in a jet of both kinds makes you start in the air instead of taking off from a fixed runway, save for a few maps.
>Miniguns were put on vehicles where in BF3 the M2 browning was on them.
>25mm cannons in BF4 on scout helicopters makes no sense at all becuase the model of the helicopter doesn't get different cannon models to use the 25mm shells. So you get 7.62mm miniguns shooting 25mm shells, which looks lazy by the devs.
>The sound that would play in BF3 when you got a kill is gone in BF4, and the HUD isn't that sexy light blue color anymore, being a dull grey and white in BF4. I miss the blue coloring of everything in BF3.
>The sound in BF3 when your jet gets damaged, a little DINK-like metallic clanking sound is gone in BF4, replaced with a barely audible less metallic sound. Same goes for helicopters.
>Remember all the different types of rockets you could throw on the mobile rocket trucks? That is gone in BF4. Mortars also don't have the smoke shells anymore.
>Home base AA cannons are AI manned in BF4 but in BF3 somebody actually had to get into one and fend off airal threats, instead of a shitty AI that turns the turret slowly, making it easy to fly over a base and rape the other team with rockets as you can just use the fire extinguisher to stop your jet/heli from getting blown up.
>No Wake Island. Cmon' DICE, a remake of Dragon Valley isn't enough. You should have given us Wake Island 2020!
This looks like nitpicking and it is, but you have to admit that is a ton of stuff missing from BF4.
