With Gamescom is right around the corner, I want to talk about Devil May Cry 5 and what we should expect from.the series. Honestly I'm hoping they make Nero a bit more fun to play in this game, he was alright in DMC4 but I felt that he could've done more with the Devil Arm instead of just throwing things. Now that we see his mechanical arm can do that and other things, I kinda wanna see how they'll approach Nero's base combat. Perhaps they'll make it more like Bayonetta where you can mix between buttons and use them for different moves. Additionally I hope they completely revamp the movement to make it something more akin to Bayonetta or even Prototype.

DMC2 is obviously the weakest game, but I still enjoy it from time to time, as the stepping stone between 1 and 3. it became more fun when I discovered that Combos are branched off by moving the stick, and not pause combos, I like how powerful the guns feel too, like how Twosome time sends enemies flying back.
DmC may technically have a better gameplay, but the game as a whole I just find too insulting. At least I can skip DMC2's cutscenes and get to the game instead of being forced to walk down hallways, I'd rather Dante be borderline mute then unlikable.

it was first Stated that Nero was vergil's son in the DMC4 novel but that was Japanese only, then more recently it was confirmed again in the DMC 3142 art book
The main problem people have with Nero being Vergil's son, is that Vergil didn't seem to expressed any interested in Humans in DMC3, he didn't care about their well being whatsoever.
Even tho Vergil had an entire life before the events of DMC3 so anything could have happened to him, People just assume he would never have sex period.
I'm actually interested in who Nero's mother could be, but I fear that they won't actually answer that, and leave it at he's Vergil's son, somehow?

I fucking loved Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King ps2 game for this, after you beat the game once.
But on the other hand, if they put in actual effort into the levels for all three being unique, then that would probably mean they're set up for specific mechanics in mind. Might not work so well. In DMC4, the sudden appearance of the glowing red trampolines when Dante backtracks was always a bit strange.

I don't think the option to just play as whoever you want in whichever mission you want in NG+ could be a bad thing for DMC. Even if there's a level that's well balanced around Nero but broken for Dante, it's just a fun little feature you can choose to play if you want. Vergil gets to destroy everyone else's levels anyway so I say just go ahead and make every level accessible to every character after you've beaten the game.

Technically DMC2 had 31, if you count the Dante and Lucia discs separately, and DMC1 had 23.
Judging the length of the game by the number of missions is moot anyway. DMC1 having three more missions than DMC3 doesn't mean much when the average completion time for a mission in DMC1 is about 4:00 and in DMC3 it's about 10:00. I have no problem at all with 10 missions per character as long as they're high quality material and they're truly varied for each character.
