Are you enjoying yourself when you write songs? Your enjoyment of doing something will greatly affect the chances of you producing something. Maybe you've got some ideas but you don't think they're good enough. Do them anyway.
There's an inherent affinity for things that some people have that let them outperform a vast majority of people. Most will have to do with hard work and experience earned over time, even certain perceived "geniuses" had nothing but their persistence and practiced skill. The important part is "being in the groove" of things. To force yourself when nothing is there is to sabotage your productivity and progress. By all means keep practicing things you already know, though.
I don't really do anything creatively, but sometimes, seemingly at random, I'll come up with 'visions' of drawings or tunes or poems that are so strong I'll have to act them out, regardless of their quality or if they'd be perceived as "good". Usually those come from dreams or shortly after I wake up when I'm still in bed and letting my mind wander in that post-sleep haze.
Now, that's by no means a reliable way to produce anything, but such is creativity. I don't believe it can be reliable.

Did a lot more grinding, I have ALL my character up to at LEAST level 55 (barring Tink, Hanako, and Taro) and to their at least Tier 4 classes.
My Adamant Knight (the 5th form of Heavy Knight) is actually jacked up over level 100. I've just started Chapter 12 and I'm ready to beat this game.
No more subpoenas or Item World runs, no more reincarnations (even though Etna is severaly lacking still), just a beeline to rip and tear through everything between my party and the end of the story.
I'm still on the fence as to whether or not I'll play Axel Mode afterwards.
Devil May Cry
This game has been kicking my ass left and right, but I finally have a good feel for it. Nelo Angelo kicked my ass seven ways to sunday the first time, but the second time I beat him in just two tries with Ifrit.
I've finished Mission 12 now, the Griffon fight on the ghost ship was fairly annoying.
I had also torrented DOA5LR to sort of mess around with, but after about 30 minutes of not really having fun I just uninstalled it. I'm gonna nab nuDoom and see if it's any fun. I like the soundtrack to it.

if you haven't played oracle of ages, i highly recommend it. both of the oracle games are amazing, altho i prefer ages myself. at the end of the game, you'll get a passcode you enter at the start of your ages game, which has you start off with 4 hearts and the sword/shield already, and additionally enables other secrets to be unlocked (from the various codes you get from various dudes in seasons). this also applies vice-versa if you do ages first.

I didn't realize it had auto-combos. I don't mind some simplificication since i'm a casual when it comes to fightans. As long as it's not as blatant as STYLISH mode from BBCPE i'm all-right. Stylish mode wasn't as bad as the fact that BBCPE's story mode was 90% VN and 10% fights though. I dropped that shit quick because of that. I like BlazBlue's convoluted as fuck story but god damn it they needed to break that shit up more like in Calamity Trigger and Continuum Shift.

That's Working Designs for you. I recall one of their scripts having a joke about Slick Willy, which is clearly not what was in the original. Working Designs also has a lot of chodesuckers that defend their bullshit, and are likely vocal enough that they obscure demand for fan retranslations, because to my knowledge, none of WDs games have gotten any.
Compounding matters, while their current incarnation as Gaijinworks has at least said they're toning down the pop culture gags, they still don't see a reason to aim for accuracy with the scripts, and have told those that don't want rewrite-tier drivel to learn Japanese and import, because the base they aim for with the games they handle doesn't want accuracy, and indeed, expects a particular style of liberty taking from WD's successor. Naturally, this becomes an issue when their releases are the ONLY versions available in English, and they ask money for such.

Haven't actually delved into their dubbing of Summon Night, but I remember their English rendition of an opening, SN5's, I think, being atrocious. While I do prefer that games leave openings and credits with the original Japanese audio, even if the rest of the game is dubbed, there is a right way to do both in English but that requires a particular level of care and budgeting (SCEA or Square, whoever made the call there, did a phenomenal job with the English renders of "Advanced Wind", "Only the Night Sky Knows", and "Wings" in WA3; embed related) that Gaijinworks clearly doesn't put into their shit.

Out of the four games they've done, 3 only bothered to keep the japanese audio for OP/EDs, and a few grunts from the jap VAs, and Summon Night 6 far as i can tell is English only.

Funny part is alot of the VAs in that game are just the ones from working designs, for example, the woman who did vid related, and more often than not they just sound completely bored. That coupled with the atrocious audio quality in general i'm guessing Gaijin "it just" works doesn't even know how to even produce a dub anymore.

Actually spent the evening shitposting in the DMC thread instead. Fucking hell, I'm on a timer here, but a chance to reminisce on the shitshow DmC was isn't something I can pass up. here's hoping I can get back to playing GR tomorrow. But yes, it's been fun. Very well made game. World Pillar was a very neat place. Seeing hundreds, if not thousands of yards between you and the target in free fall, and then losing all sense of up and down a few hours later, really does a lot for invoking a surreal atmosphere.
