Depends, nintendo does have the yakuza on their payroll and won't hesitate to kill entire families if they don't deliver on their products, back in the 80's they threatened the guy who made donkey kong because he was going to cancel everything and go to some other company to publish this game (he wasn't just working with nintendo, he had already made games for other companies), so they kidnapped his sister and sent him a letter telling him they wanted the game by tomorrow or they'd send him back the girl piece by piece, the madman went to their offices and left them a broken DK arcade machine on their doorstep and told them they were next, his sister was back home later that same day, no idea what happened after that but considering donkey kong did come out my guess is that they pussied out when they realized he didn't give a single fuck, was ready to burn it all down and killing him would rob them of millions of yen.
There's also konami and hackeo cuckjima, some people rumour that when he got big with MGS1 he wanted all the credit for it so he hired yakuza to kill the guy who wrote the story for 1, 2, 3 and both ZoE games, it's why the series has been downhill ever since then and why his non MGS-Ender games are a fucking mess, death stranding is a walking simulator but in third person and with a cryptic story (what's the game even about?) yet there's no shortage of people wanting to fellate him for shitting out trailer after trailer and referencing his own games, they also excuse him for pocketing millions of dollars when he was developing MGSV TPP and shitting out a clearly unfinished game and never finishing it with DLC, ground zeroes had more polish and effort put into it for fuck sake, and that was a glorified tech demo.
Some small videogame companies start out by borrowing money from the yakuza and swearing to pay it off later, imageepoch for example, they shat out mediocre game after mediocre game and even though the PSP ones had incredible graphics, great art and character design and decent gameplay, they were absolutely terrible when it came to the story and writing, zero advertising too, they also fucked themselves over by hiring big name seiyuus for everything they did, their sole "good" game, stella glow, unfortunately came out too late to save them (great reviews and sales even in the west), they signed for bankrupcy right after release and the CEO fucking banished.
