Nigger the game HAS no real options. It's my favorite "game is so poorly optimized that lowering any of the settings has little to no performance impact because it's bottlenecking on shitty code" meme. Other games in recent memory that do that are Homefront: The Revolution, Asscreed Wewuz, Ghost Recon Wildlands, and Dark Souls 3. The only performance boost you can possibly get on those games is to flat out lower the resolution, and even then they run like absolute ass for how they look.
The only option in Automata that actually has a significant impact on performance is the global illumination quality, which defaults to the engine limit and can only be lowered with a fucking community mod.

Aside from the shit port, Automata isn't even a good game. It's a dumbed down Bayonetta with much less variety and a horrible "level" system that only serves to ruin the encounter design by skewing damage numbers (excessively in the player's favor, since you level way too fucking fast). Before you go "lol u only played A route", no, switching Heavy attack for a shitty minigame gimmick or giving the player a health-vampire version of devil trigger does not make enough of a difference to change the fact that it's a massive downgrade compared to both Bayonetta AND the original Nier in the gameplay department.

I don't know anything about Nier Gestalt's gameplay, but I do know that Automata probably has more attacks than you know about. There are quite a few attack inputs that aren't explained anywhere, and even a couple that aren't found on any online guides I could find either.
That said, I enjoyed Automata more for story anyway, which I thought was pretty good.
