Why are the checkpoints shaped like the star of David in the enguarde challenge? I've always wondered, but couldn't find an answer. Wouldn't they save a few extra polygons by giving them a simpler 5 star shape or am I missing something?

6 point star is very symmetric compared to a 5 point star, pic related. Just try to draw a 5 point star, it's tricky unless you have some kind of mathematical tool.
