NISA's current situation
NISA has been losing IPs and they are in a very bad situation. You have to understand that NIS makes absolutely no profits at all and relies exclusively on NISA to stay afloat, meaning that NISA itself has a big handicap. In other words: they are desperate. They know that if they can't keep bringing new games/releases, they could die. But what if they lose Falcom as well?
NIS/A's relationship with Falcom
In the last years, NISA has been releasing Falcom games on Europe on behalf of XSEED (which translates and releases their games most of the time for NA and PC). This time, NISA went all desperate and managed to get Ys 8. They promised a PC port day 1 and French tl.
But because the translation was garbage, there was a small email campaign directed to Falcom. A few days later, they apologised promised a retranslation (Falcom probably saw the emails and demanded NIS/A an answer).
In other words, they fucked up and Falcom didn't like that at all. And they just fucked up again: the day 1 PC port got delayed 7 months and it's utter trash.
The final blow to hurt even further Falcom and NISA's relationship
In a recent shareholder's meeting, Falcom's president pointed out how well received are their games on PC thanks to Steam and GOG reviews. If the game gets a massive amount of negative reviews, Falcom will get the message: fans don't want NISA's releases.
What to do
Get the game on Steam or GOG, play the game for less than 2 hours, then submit a negative review- Don't make it painfully obvious that you hate NISA, focus exclusively on the issues. Finally, ask for a refund and get your money back.
On the other hand, mark as helpful all the negative reviews on Steam/GOG and do the oppositve to positive reviews.
Ys 8 was a game made with the Western market in mind, and NISA fucked them up. Now it's time for them to lose another publisher. Hit them where it hurts.

Otherwise, the Claims associate handles all that stuff. If a customer returns an item, if it's not defective, it gets processed and restocked onto the shelf. Obviously we don't restock personal items like underwear or opened bedding, or food; even if you don't have a receipt, we will accept a return and give you a refund for it because it's all about customer satisfaction.
If an item is defective off the truck, or it gets recalled, or it's out of season, she processes the items to get sent back to home office. If we catch it as damaged from the truck, it gets written off (the store "buys" items with credit from Home Office - if we break it, it gets written off as a loss on us, but if it's damaged and caught at the moment of arrival, then it's HO's loss, not our's). Generally we don't sell broken/damaged items at 10% off or whatever, it's just pulled.
Another example, back to school. We have cases and cases of pens, markers, etc. Sometimes it doesn't sell. It gets repacked and resent back home through the reclamation process. There, it will get repacked into another seasonal bin, maybe for a February winter pen display or something, and get redistributed to the store. Depends entirely on the brand, product, etc.
Can't speak about truck drivers, since I believe they're 3rd party? There's a few vendors and shipments that come. As a rule, we don't accept gives, services, or entertainment (which is to immediately be reported to an assistant manager (or assman as we like to cal them)). Undercutting product and them keeping it is reportable as well.

Here's a little secret. If an item is ticketed at under $50 (and especially under $20), the cashiers are supposed to take your word on it if it's mispriced or whatnot. Like I said, the company's focus this year is on customer satisfaction, so they're not supposed to hassle you over dumb shit.
Say a shirt was $40, and you thought the rack was $32? Well congrats you just saved on that shirt. We've caught customers being stupid too. A food processor was $120, she got it for $80 because it was like 2 inches over the other tag when the associate checked and they got confused. Lead CSM (customer service manager) let her have it at that price. Also I THINK this is to avoid the scanning code of practice shit. I think we're technically supposed to give them the item for free if it's under $10, according to Ontario laws, but usually they're happy to have it at the "correct" lower price. Generally, we take the customers at their word, but some of them are stupid or tricky.
Gift cards are a little more difficult to defraud. We take a hard stance on money laundering and that sort of thing, so we limit gift card sales. If you eg return an item and get a refund, it has to be onto the same method of payment you used originally (card or cash). There have been instances where people have taken merchandise from a nearby Bed Bath and Beyond, then returned it to our store without a receipt, and got money back. Hell, I've seen milk bags returned, of a brand we don't even fucking carry.

They released the PC port of Ys 8 after months of delays (Partially thanks to Gildafags email campaign to Falcom about NISA's shitty translation for the PS4 and Vita version) with the end result being that it's one of the worst PC ports to be widely released, and that they fucked things up so much that even the Nips are going to see how shitty of a company NISA because the PC port is entirely NISA's handiwork.

NISA didn't want their games to leave Playstation platforms "because pirates and modders" so they told NIS there was no market for ports in the west, they shipped out a broken port of Cladun X2 and used the non-existent sales as proof. One of the things that pisses me off most about "geek culture" is how it basically found a way to sucker nerds into buying tons of useless crap to decorate their homes with. Worthless nicknacks and baubles. That and the fact that it made being a so-called "nerd" popular and brought in all the hipsters which arguably lead to the current infestation of social justice in all of our hobbies. But it all started with the commercial aspect. It all stemmed from superheroes movies.
Really, hear me out.
X-Men came out and then Spider-Man and they were huge commercial successes. This showed the corporations that have an interest in such a thing that there was money to be made on this audience. More and more superhero movies soon followed to capitalize on this audience. Then Big Bang Theory and then Doctor Who popularised "geek chic" and more and more "geek" culture was pushed into the mainstream, which in turn brought in the hipsters which in turn brought in the SJWs. It all makes sense to me.
But what bothers me the most is the fucking worthless baubles and nick nacks that you see everywhere. Little Mario figurines and little toys and tiny little models. I'm ashamed to admit that I myself have bought my fair share of worthless bullshit. Well no more. Today I boxed up all my bullshit and tucked it away. My living space looks so much better now.
