Yeah, the thing about that is these people accept that they will never be more than mediocre at these games. They'll never win any matches. They'll never play at a really high level. Most games that it's possible to finish, they won't. Basically, they will permanently be playing backyard touch football with their beer-buddies for laughs.
So it actually has nothing to do with autism to obsess over a single game. It's more about extreme and violent competitiveness; these are the kinds of people that spend tons of money on their games and take it way too seriously, the kind that think they're the king of the fucking universe because they have the fastest time in a goldeneye level.
There are plenty of people between those two extremes, but you don't hear much about them. Most people don't play either ONE game or a little bit of DOZENS of games; most people have a handful that they enjoy and they kind of rotate around them.
