It's basically the same ending as Adventure only Adventure did it better. They're both undone immediately after, but Adventure doesn't even hint at it being undone, while Tamers does, so the tension is killed right away. Then with Tamers you don't even get the story where they meet again, it just happens before the next entry. In Adventure it's only in an audio drama but it's better than nothing.

It might seem unintuitive, but Digimon really starts to make a lot more sense when you consider absolutely everything ever to be canon. Key plot developments happen in audio dramas, and the entire multiverse revolves around the plots of a bunch of games that were only ever released on WonderSwan and will NEVER EVER BE TRANSLATED. There's no reason to say this one particular audio drama doesn't count, when others are essential.

Should have mentioned something about the design choice to have the kids naked when they were one with their digimon as a means to show that there was nothing left to hide between them. It was some good imagery and it was neat the networks didn't pull any punches there, though I suppose that was more acceptable at the time. It was also neat how the adult characters and parents grew alongside their kids. You really don't get that to often in these sort of shows.

I like the dynamic between faithful monsters helping their partners grow and wouldn't mind capturing that in a more mature setting. The only way this turns out well is if a sequel is made and it doesn't end depressingly. Considering Konaka's track record, he is sure to write another bittersweet or depressing ending.

Xros Wars is good as it's own thing. It is very different from the previous shows and follows a whole different formula. Also power levels are completely remade, which means you get weird shit like Mega level digimons taking orders from champion level digimons. Evolution was also reworked so it doesn't work like in the previous shows.

Digimon Universe feels like an extended remake of the Xros Wars Hunters plot, except where XWH was consistently shit until the multiverse crossover in the final arc, Applimon is consistently 'not great, not bad' before suddenly getting good near the end.
There's a lot of wasted potential and some unexpected loose threads, but at least the main cast were interesting.

Digimon Hunters is a complete abomination. I wouldn't mind it at all if it didn't tainted the Xros Wars name by selling itself as a sequel. Not even the crossover could save it. That was one mild interesting thing that happened in the final episode of a series of constantly unwatchable episodes.
That whole show was just a fill in for the timeslot untill the new Saint Seiya was ready. They never had any intention of putting effort into it.

The worst wrong with it was that there is a sort of Effort Value super training ability to enhance the base stats of digimon, but it was severely locked down. IE: a stat tops out at 300, but with enhanced training autism, you can get the stat to 400, but the BAR for potential clearly shows it could go to 900+, but you can never get the stat to go farther than that extra 100.
The other aspect was that the end game soon focused on digimon with Piercing/defense ignoring attacks due to the Foe digimon having shitloads of stats that far exceed anything the player digimon can have.

What could be the problem here? Bad ISO? An issue with Pro CFW? This is why I have zero contact with the Digimon community. I will open a general maybe once a month, read the latest 5 posts and then move on.
I'm a monster autist, I fucking love monster designs. Digimon hits the sweet spot for me but the community is nothing but furries who's only interest in the monsters is how fuckable they are. Sistermon in Hacker's memory are pretty fun. They're a neat little side story when they first appear but I know they're just going to be used as fap bait. No one wants to discuss any of the new Digimon as designs or any sort of general cool obscure digimon. Instead it's just waifumon and furries saying how bad they want to fuck the animal ones.
Look at the Terriermon posts in this thread. Terriermon isn't remotely sexual in any way, shape or form. He's just a slightly sarcastic bro and he's awesome for it. Now you have people going "heuh heuh heuh I'd dick that on my pile of piss bottles" and it just ruins the entire any sort of discussion you could have.
If you want to fap to something then go nuts, just have the self awareness to keep your fapping in private and don't constantly advertise it every where. This is why furries didn't used to be tolerated, they couldn't keep sex out of every thing they posted. It was revolting and it still is.
