Mass Effect was a colossal mess but at the end of the day it only fucked over Bioware and everyone was kind of expecting the game to blow ass because Bioware has been shit for a while.
Battlefront 2 though. Not only is this game fuck over EA/activision it's also shit on the star was brand and Disney by extension. Bonus points for actually getting lawmakers to draft legislation to ban microtransactions. This is the kind of shake-up that can cripple an entire industry. It wasn't a war over territory, it was a war over lives lost and gained simply because of how efficient the VC were at guerilla warfare, and concealing themselves and their position. Any ground the Americans took would be extremely hard fought, only for charlie to run away and come back when the Americans had already largely pissed off. Not to mention that the VC used the locals in order to hide supplies, weapons, and etc. And any one of them could be supporting the VC and ready to kill an American if he had the drop on him. The ewoks in comparison were fucking ridiculous, killing the stormtroopers with rocks, stones and nets. Fuck ewoks. A true vidya blunder would be one that is devastating to the companies who were involved in making it. Battlefront II was a major flop but we already saw this coming, the magnitude of course was increased by terrible publicity and potential lawsuits but it will only make a tiny dent that EA can manage.
