I like asymmetrical multiplayer games.

I wish somebody would do a multiplayer game similar to Spies vs Mercs from SC:CT, too bad the closes things to that right now are Evolve and DbD which are shit.

Appart from shooters, I used to really enjoy War of the Vikings, it was a pretty cozy game with good skill progression, the kind of game were you would meet the same guy over and over on the battlefield and challenge him until you manage to finaly defeat him, but some day paradox decied to first release the "special" vallhalla edition THEN suddenly rework the game, destroying it in the process. It was a travesty, worse than any lootbox debacle. The game already had a small but stable playerbase to begin with, but even after they managed to fuck up the netcode so badly that it became barely playable and refused to rever the game back to it's playable state , some people still played until they decided to shut down the servers. And since paradox had an exclusive contract with the company that hosted the servers, private servers weren't allowed. Top it all off, the people that bought the vallhalla edition at a price of about 50$, shortly before paradox fucked up the game, didn't get a refund, NO NO NO Paradox "gifted" them some of their games with shitty overpriced as hell DLC and claimed that they were the equivalent of a 120$ refund, it was just sickening, and some people actually ate it up and defended them.

The original SvM wasn't perfect but it could have been great if Ubisoft actually refined it in the sequels instead of casualising it.

The spies in the original SvM had to actually rely on stealth to get the upper hand on the mercs and didn't have any of the weapons or x-ray vision that the later games in the franchise gave them.

In Dead by Daylight on the other hand, the survivors are extremely OP to the point where they can outright bully the killer they're supposed to be hiding from.

While Evolve is mostly just chasing after the monster until either the hunters kill it or it reaches level 3 and then the hunters have to defend an objective from an overpowered, bullet sponge.

The last online game I enjoyed was Dayz while it was still a mod and right before the streamers caught on.

I never got into MMO PvPs, but it was fascinating to me how people could sink hours into furiously clicking and hitting their macros for 10 seconds until one player is dead.
