Well, not really. There's plenty of evidence in codex entries, quests and whatnot to suggest that the warframes are intelligent and only allow themselves to be controlled. The Sacrifice will probably resolve any questions about that, I assume that it'll be about how a human being must be used in their creation. Tenno's parents for the maximum Eva feel, perhaps.

As for potato gameplay, they're still basically useless in any meaninful content outside of pure utility, usually just popping out for a few moments at a time to rez or give you free energy. The guns are basically just for eidon hunting a dicking around in low level stuff.

Sure the DS connections are nebulous and debatable, and at this point it's safe to say it probably isn't really the same universe, but the actual lore of the game hasn't changed. Tenno have always been metal ninja suit dudes, with the 'operator' being disconnected on some fashion; the taters just show you who the operators really are, albeit in a very silly way. All the codex entries are still present, as is the scene in TSD with the frame moving independently. None of that has been officially explained yet - it could be that the tater controlled the frames in those instances, but if DE have even a little sense they know that that explanation would really upset most people.

most abilities in your focus tree are only unlocked after doing saya's quest in Cetus. Granted it's a very quick quest, takes almost no time. After completing the quest, no one will tell you to take a stairway to the left of Konzu (your quest giver npc) to find a locked door that has no discernible markings on it, the only thing special about it is that it's lit and alone in it's area. No one will also tell you to get into operator mode so the door unlocks and you can finally step in. Ater talking to the npc inside, the rest of your focus tree will be unlocked.

The game is more beginner friendly now than ever, which is not saying much since it always depended heavily on the wiki (still does tough).

And you can have multiple warframes, each with multiple builds, so your starter frame matters little in your overall progression. If you later find a favorite frame, you can switch back and forth with no problems.

The only thing that you can't undo is how you invest in your Tenno, which is your acutal character and who has multiple skill trees to invest XP in. But even then you can still invest in all of the skill trees as you please. It just takes forever to max them all out.

standing is fairly easy to farm. just fish at night for lungfish. each small one is 100, medium is 150, and 200 for the big ones. after 1 solid night of fishing, its easy to get 80+ small, 40+ medium and 40+ big ones. that alone is enough to max that daily standing and have fish left over. or catch those merkrays and brain fish and sell the big ones for 1000. remember big fish give you just as much specific fish parts, so youre better off always trading the big ones for standing. for example a small norg will give you one brain or 250 standing, and a large will give you one brain or 1000 standing.

mining rocks is kinda fun. i like how they reward you for cutting the dotted line accurately. the rewards should be greater, but its not that bad. but then again i havnt had to build many minerals.

really? my main complaints with PoE are:

1) again, just like archwing, completely disconnected from the main game in terms of resources which is a big middle finger to longtime players

2) Cetus in general is a shitshow, annoying NPCs, too small to be believable as a settlement but too large to be comfortable to navigate leaving it with a ton of just completely empty space functionally speaking, also it runs like ass

3) fishing and mining are shameless grind, they were fun for the first few hours but now it's just obnoxious and the fact that for the gems you have to spend all this standing on buying recipes that you then have to stand at your foundry and craft over and over is just insulting (I know they "fixed" the recipes to be 10x at once but that's just a bandaid, why can't they fucking put a quantity and a queue on the foundry)

4) the plains themselves have the same problem; they're not big enough to really have fun exploring (I saw the entire whole map the first day, within an hour or two) and archwings have to be limited in speed otherwise you'll traverse the map in a couple seconds, but they're too big to be convenient on foot

5) speaking of PoE and archwings, why the fuck does it cost all these organic resources to build the archwing launcher and why does it take "charges"?

6) where is all the wildlife? you get one species of little rodent things and some vulture birds stolen straight out of diablo II's second act and that's it? of course there's no room for wildlife because there are grineer completely saturating the landscape but the plains sure don't feel very "alive" to me

overall it's nice and fun to have a big outdoor area, I think the eidolon fights are fun, but if we're gonna have this kind of thing I want to see it be BIG, with multiple settlements and open matchmaking; a proper MMO world and not more instanced bullshit

the "last ability used" button works without unequipping fishing gear, which can be tied to either the potato child being released to kill the blue things, or an ability like world of fire or fireball to get at the grineer.

at night, get a few of those weather balloons to follow you to your fishing hole, they'll automatically kill those blue things.

Things slow a freaking lot when you hit MR 7 or so, until then you are just trying stuff and trying to understand why the fuck the game never told you several very necessary things, like ranking mods, putting stuff in your frame, getting the aura mods and maxing then as first objective.

There are several things that would be better for first time players that is mind numbling, like MR test, they are exactly what i would expect for a training room and are the most you will get out of any kind of training in this game, but some of those trainings appear so freaking late, that by that time you will have figured it out yourself.

I have such mixed feelings about this game..

maybe it's just that mmos do not appeal to me in general, but perhaps there is indeed a problem with the grind or bullet sponges, or the bosses being lackluster, needless crafting that takes more time and effort than it should, man I dunno.

My dread takes down almost everything 1 hit, 2 at most with bosses but I still need to forma it. But the gas damage scale with crit and making it a high crit build is amazing and with speed trigger it's no time at all for drawing.

i used to go rad vs. corpus, but at the sortie level i realized that most shit was dying so fast that it didn't matter. at any point if there was something resembling a line of guys a single charged shot would destroy anything that wasn't a tech or a combus/scrambus in one hit. so i swapped to corrosive to deal with bursa armor. flinging 2-3 blades per shot makes head-shotting easy as well, since the natural spread of the blades is to place one above and one below the "main" blade. aiming at upper center mass will always land headshots thanks to the 100% chance for a second blade to come out.

yeah a large part of that punch through is present naturally on the weapon. the rest comes from Shred, which i run more for the +fire rate than i do the punch through. but the thing with the miter is that punch only applies to charged shots, so having Shred on it means i can rapid-fire uncharged shots and get a similar effect to the charged shots just with a shorter punch range.

im not very familiar with the bolto. i've definitely "mastered" it but i dont even think i stuck a potato on it. i probably didnt like it.

right now im just forever rolling an opticor riven until i get something amazing. right now i have one that adds something like 160% crit damage and 200% electric damage. so i just throw on toxin to give it ~16k corrosive with a 10x crit multiplier.

the only negative is reload speed. which brings it from ~2 seconds to ~3 seconds.

its not perfect, but i can 1 or 2 shot those ships out of the sky on the "hardest" plains bounties. it also kills most sortie bosses in 1-3 hits.

is there a way to check for riven disposition without owning a riven? (or looking online?) im fairly new to rivens and i was excited to get a tigris riven. i rolled it about 18 times now and didnt understand until recently why the tigris had such shit rolls. +60% ice damage +100% crit damage +20 multishot - 60 damage to grineer is the best i had after 18 rolls

should i keep rolling it? i've yet to find something that beats adding the punchthrough/fast reload utility mod. from what i've seen "godly" riven mods are arguably not much better than a 90% elemental.

Getting it from the plains is actually a pretty good way. You can 300 from one drop on the higher missions, and because you get a drop chance every stage now you have a good chance of walking away with at least 300 every mission. So you can farm lenses, kuva, and standing all at the same time.

if they were easier to roll, i'd roll more often for fun. i dont even care if the reward was lowered. if it was easy enough id roll just for something slightly better than my current build. most would. look at most primed mods. or exilus mods. forma 2x just to get 15% more power or duration? worth it to some.

but the kuva rolls are just too punishing.

one of my earliest rivens was for some shit pistol. but the riven was CRAZY. +200 multishot, +200 damage, + toxin to boost corrosive. i maxed it out. equipped it, formad the thing, after all that? turned a bad MR fodder weapon into a mediocre mr fodder weapon.

I guess this riven was a shit since I'm getting more damage with a cheaper +90% Multishot mod and I couldn't tell the difference between the accuracy and flight time in Simularicum. Config A is the same as B, just with the riven mod replacing Split Chamber.

Anon, rivens are never gonna be worth it until you max out a weapon, with a full potato and forma. Even if it had +200% damage, your normal damage mod is about that and also 4 points cheaper at max rank.
