>but really they should've.
not quite.
>but didn't give a shit about their western fans.
definitely not.
Look, you need to understand something to really get where you are in the industry and how you can really affect change. You are at the bottom of the ladder. But you are also part of the most important market in the world. There's a complex of systems keeping things under wraps. Here's what you don't do:
Blame FALCOM. Falcom picked the studio that told them what they wanted to hear
<we will have the PC and PS4 and Vita versions ready for a western launch in 2017
<we will have them out at the same time
<we have a great reception with our fans and our translations are considered industry standard, just look at all the positive reviews:
<The positive reviews:
NISA is friendly with journos. Journous wanna be friendly with NISA. They scratch each others backs. This is a situation that is simple to understand. NISA has the pull to get those good reviews for the sake of getting more and more third parties signed up for their translations.
<You are part of an incestuous system.
Xseed had some bad PR during one of the previous translations, NISA no doubt used this and stressed the disappointment Falcom may have had with how long it took things to turn out. The primary source of information these japanese studios have for information is the journalists in the west and the middle-men translators themselves.
<This is not falcoms fault.
They wanted a good product, they wanted their game to be treated well, and they thought they were getting treated well. All the positive coverage looked good, and then it landed. Couldn't hide it. Turning that hatred onto falcom is a waste and only serves to create division.
