Wishiwashi because the transformation ability is nice and it becomes a monster. Also hive-type enemies are cool.

Mimikyu because it's the first fairy type to be even close to a proper Faerie (see: magical dicks full of hate and trickery). Also before release it was played up as a sad wannabe pikachu, when the anime version is full of pikachu-hate and the totem version seems to be a stalker or something. Also using the camera thing for spooks was a nice touch.

Dhelmise. It's just really fucking cool and has an interesting ability. I want a full team of ghosts based on haunted items that aren't just rotom.

The speed stat fucks over most Alola pokemon. Toucannon, Decidueye, Lurantis and a few others would be much more viable if they were faster. You either have to play to their slow speed with Trick Room or speed boosts, or bulk up and hope for the best.

It would be nice if they gave Kommo-o Shell Smash. It would make it so much more viable.

Salazzle's signature ability is pointless because the only way it's useful is that you can run a toxic stall on any pokemon, regardless of typing, but salazzle is frail as shit and would never survive a toxic stall strategy. There are many other instances like this of pokemon with otherwise good moves and abilities that are worthless in the hands of the only pokemon that can use them. Why did they do this?

It's very situational, but there are situations where it would help. Toxicing Celesteela or Aegislash would make them much easier to take down.

I don't use one, but if I did I'd scarf it and give it Toxic and some hard hitting moves. I'd whip it out to fuck over steel walls or to pick off weaker enemies. That seems like the best way to take advantage of Corrosion.

Steel WAS a good defensive typing until X/Y fucked it and let Dark and Ghost bypass it because limp wristed fuckfaces couldn't beat metagross.

As it is now, Steel just stands as a target for fire, fighting, and ground types, and without a resistance to dark or ghost, it now just gets shitkicked by any pokemon with a dark or ghost move (IE: all of them)

It's one of the reasons I gave up on pokemon because steel was fine but I liked it because it resisted dark and ghosts, but oops, it doesn't anymore and all steel types now suck in the new games.

It's OK under Trick Room, but you can say that about a lot of pokemon.

I know a guy who uses Z-Switcheroo to double it's speed. Base 40 speed isn't much when doubled but works well against casual players.

If it got Coil you could trap something with Anchor Shot and spam sub/coil to boost stats. Give it leftovers for recovery and you'd have a passable set.

Speed aside, the starters were the best since Gen III. Every one of them look great and do enough to be truely unique. I think it's safe to say nobody expected Decidueye to be Grass/Ghost.

Lycanroc Midday is pretty great, it's honestly refreshing to see another fast as fuck rock type alongside Aerodactyl. Midnight is bad in all regards; shit speed, no signature move, looks like Verlisifag, and generally sucks compared to it's other two forms.

Wishiwashi is cute as fuck. Wish it had a better movepool and more HP, though.

Mimikyu is also cute as fuck and is suprising good in battle, too. Being able to effectively hold two Focus Sashes is pretty great.

Golisopod is fantastic. Great attack, great moves, even it's ability can be useful in most circumstances.

Oranguru is easily the best Trick Room setter i've ever seen. Good bulk, immunity to flinching, and a move that makes pokemon use their moves twice in one turn, what's not to like?

The Ultra Beasts in general are just fantasic. Each one of them have a unique roll to play and are generally useful. On an aside, I love how they're treated like a huge threat, but act like complete goobers when you go in to pet them, it's fucking great.

There's this neat strategy for doubles you can use with Palossand which involves it using Amnesia to boost it's Sp.Def while a Smeargle hits it with Water Shuriken to boost it's Def. You also give Palossand the move Shore Up and Leftovers for healing. It's not perfect, but it's real fun to use.

If you want more fun with Palossand, combine it with Weakness Policy- then give it a partner that can pull attacks in case you can't lead with Smeargle (Mimikyu Z-Destiny Bond, A-Ninetails Aurora Veil, even Friend Guard Follow Me Clefairy) maybe even another user of Surf.

I'd give it an ally that can handle stuff it's weak to (Dark types, Grass Types- but neither are that common, so just think about what top tier pokes hit it hardest- maybe an Ice Type for Garchomp?) or something that gets a bonus from Smeargle's Water Shuriken move (or another move it learns)- look at whatever abilities are based off types. Speed Swap and Psych Up are pretty fun. I remember using Pheromosa to swap speed on to Eviolite Type: Null and then have it boost with Swords Dance, shit got wrecked pretty hard. Psych Up is pretty strong when used in conjunction with Evoboost. I can't tell you how many battles that won me when Evoboost was Baton Passed to Chansey, who then max Minimized and got Psyched Up by Mew, it's fucking great.

Yeah, i've thought about that. I almost always have Protein Greninja lead so I can guard with Mat Block and one shot Garchomp or even Mega Rayquaza with Ice Beam, so i'm pretty good on that front.
