I've got some friends that play a lot of computer games, but none have mentioned it (and I'm not about to reveal my power level by bringing it up). I went with Temmie and Flowey for the pawns, because they're the only characters that it makes any sense there are more than one of. I tried to not repeat anyone else. Well when the color did finally come along it was for boss (or miniboss) battles, and I think it made them more special in that regard, a little flavor for something that stood out from all the random encounters. Then you get to Asriel and all of a sudden are hit with an absolute color explosion which, going into it not expecting it, helped cement it as my favorite encounter of any game I've played to date because you're hit with so many new things at once. If everything had been in full color and motion up till then, it might have lessened the effect, I feel.

I think his was actually the only correctly colored one. Everything else in the battle other than his swords came at you in color, and unless he's wearing the same colored robe as his parents, chances are he appeared in black and white; black armor in his fully transformed state, black robe in the first stage. Flowey's fight was a visual nightmare, and that was great too. I can't really peg Sans for not having a colored fight other than his eyeball and the heart sprite, because he's a skeleton..other than the blue attacks, what other than ivory are we going to see?

It's not where Gmod Tower was; not yet. But for what is available, i'm finding it pretty good. They just put out another game, Little Crusaders, which is basically identical to Ultimate Chimera Hunt if you're familiar with it. The matches are stomps one way or the other, with the dragon dying within 10 seconds or horrendously outplaying all the knights, but it's fun. There's also minigolf, ball race (super monkey ball outside of TU), a game called Virus which is basically halo zombies..it's not a very diverse selection right now, but there's also a fully functional and detailed casino, bowling, other minigames you can do..yeah, I have fun with it. Very active development too, with a Trello that you can monitor all the progress from. Call it shilling if you want but I want to get people at least interested in it, at least to keep an eye on it. Be warned though, the nature of it has attracted weebs, furries, and memelords in equal measure.

I am not the guy to ask about that since my comprehension of what the fuck they are doing is limited to the few times I go and check their trello occasionally or "Hey, TU is queued for a big update on steam." But uhh..I gotta say, my condo is dark for a reason. Because for quite a bit now they've really screwed the pooch on the lighting. I don't know what the fuck they did but ever since the first screenshot i've ever posted of it here, it's only gotten worse. Don't know what the fuck they're doing with the unreal engine but in making things more detailed, lot of fuckin graphical termites have come out of the woodworks. Flickering lights, pop in and out as I turn in different directions depending on where i'm standing, ghostly afterimages left on my screen..they're "updating" to the point where I think my toaster can't handle whatever they're doing.
The solution, I guess..? Turn shadows all the way down, turn dynamic lighting on, stay fullscreen, keep it nighttime..it worked for a bit, but now with this newest update i'ts broken again, and my frustration is increasing. I would rather the lighting be plain as fuck and not have my game freak out whenever I walk around.

Every time I look at Asriel fanart (at least the well drawn ones), it has this cute or cool feeling to it.

The point of sans' is (or at least I think it is) that he was a laid back and chill character. Something did feel off about like him taking "shortcuts" and stuff but, it doesn't get too weird (expect the part where he said he could kill you where you stand but he could have been bluffing).
When you do the genocide route is where it start getting meta (and you realize he wasn't buffing). I wouldn't say Flowey was "written out" but more so that Sans basically stole his thunder.

He's laid back but there's absolutely nothing that sans could have done that Flowey could have done a million times better as being the meta character. He was already introduced, he was given the most background and character development, what little that entailed.
The decision to not have him interact with the player in a meta way, after how it was hinted at in the demo, was a damn shame, same with his story all coming in one or two fucking text dumps. It was vulgar to treat that character in such a way, especially after crafting such an interesting one, and the only one to ever have any sort of commentary on the human experience in the entire fucking game. It was nothing more than a damn subversion tactic, a damn bait and switch. It was lazy writing, it was lazy implementation and it could have been great.
That pretty much describes the whole game, wasted potential. He set up an interesting, unique environment that he used for the most shallow of game play that had the glimmer of being great and a shitty bait and switch. Not only that, but he created the most fucking interesting characters in recent video game history only to squander it on such a shitty fucking replacement.
All and all, it wasn't me that made the game, hell, I'm not good at anything I fucking do. I fuck everything I do up, and at least he created something he wanted to. I'd probably fuck the game up even more if I was the one who was working on it.

According to ONLY what we know in canon, Chara and Frisk working together either kill all the monsters or help Asriel break the barrier and free all the monsters. There's no getting around him being fucked over at the end of the game, he returns to being a flower because toby didn't go the extra mile and give you some outlet for preventing that even though he had the gaster mystery, and that Easter egg that only unlocks if you complete the post game bullet hell right that he could have tied together for some sense of closure on both instead of the shit he actually used that location for.
There is no good ending for Asriel, and depending how you view sans, no good game for him. He provided a method that would require a fuckload of skill to resolve in a satisfying way, and fucking wasted it all.
He even had a way to fuck your game if you reset after genocide.
Reminder that "his theme" is the closest song to "undertale" in terms of leitmotif while "megalovania" isn't even a leitmotif in a game where nearly every song is one.

I don't know, the way the true pacifist ending was handled with letting a creature who committed crimes against her race go with a slap on the wrist, taking Toriel's stupid fucking bullshit seriously and promoting it as the best way things could have panned out, and the overall "this is a happy ending" just makes it come off as disingenuous. It goes even further when you consider that pacifist was the easiest fucking shit, and you had to put in minimal effort to get it, though it's treated as if it was some great challenge that you overcame. It just tells me that toby wrote shit as he went with absolutely no planning. I can name several ways to make it challenging to get true pacifist, and many more as to how to make a super secret ending where asriel goes free, but that would require you to play the game more than once, which in the genocide route, toby claims is the absolute worst thing you could do to a game because it takes the soul out of it or some bullshit because he can't have been arsed to go the extra mile.
