ASMR doesn't work on me anymore. I've listened to everything (except chewing/drinking noises; I have Misophonia). Is there anything I can do? I used to really enjoy ASMR, but now it does nothing for me. The best I currently get is a sense of relaxation from stone carving and pen/pencil writing sounds.

I had the same problem. It turned out that I for one had the volume turned on too low, I turned it up to twice the volume I currently had. And secondly, the most important part, was that I had to empty my mind, now whenever I want to enjoy ASMR I have to make sure that I don't think of anything while I listen. You can't think of anything except maybe the sound you're currently listening to, finish any thoughts/monologue that you might have before you start listening.

Now before I start listening I can lie in my bed for 15 minutes just thinking of things that could randomly pop up in my head and distract me while I'm trying to relax, and once that's done I can enjoy ASMR like I could when I first started listening.

Sounds like advice for successful meditation, but I'll try it.

How does it just go away, it's never happened to me.

I just listened to ASMR for like a year and a half straight, over and over and over, every single day. One day I just stopped being able to feel the tingles. It just became background noise to me.

I usually listen to ASMR in the background while doing other things and it sometimes slips my mind, but when I focus on it the feeling is still there, it just becomes like an ordinary passive state of mind that I'm not even aware of.

It actually helps me to concentrate when I'm in that state of mind.

When the triggers are really strong though it's actually hard to focus on anything else.

The only way to get back the brain orgasms is to abstain for some time. It's my belief that ASMR triggers pathways (namely dopamine and opiod receptors) in your brain similar to taking a recreational drug and as such you build a tolerance to it the same way. Take a break, and pace yourself in the future.
