I… I had hoped I had misread that.. That sucks and might break TF2's playability; hopefully it can be disabled by server commands.

Weapon changes are also mostly awful. Of particular note is wrangler; now engineer is shit against competent opponents. Bazaar bargain is now one bizarre piece of shit; I used to use it in MvM for free charge rate, now it can't get heads off giants.

It was always a piece of shit. Due to charge cap, last charge rate upgrade was useless. Besides, charge doesn't affect explosive hs damage bonus.

Only wrangler, enforcer and loch nerfs are retarded, most other weapon changes are great

I used bargain in expert because I could kill giant medics without lots of money reliably with it. I didn't buy the charge upgrade, I knew they didn't stack.

And being able to pick up weapons off the ground isn't as game breaking as I expected, you have to look right at the weapon to grab it. Available weapons are highlighted yellow though, it's very distracting, hopefully there's a way to disable that.
