Milk is a terrible inefficient source of food and energy, takes too much food to produce. Humans even more so, considering we don't grow to become 1200lbs and give birth in two years ;) It would work better if you made the women herbivore too, but that might be somewhat un-sexy. "Um you got some greens on your teeth… like, a lot."

I'd probably go for spider-morphs, specifically the kind that in theory could kill you after sex. The social upheaval in conservative countries where women still are thought of as second-grade citizens would have been hilarious, if men suddenly found themselves killed by womanly instincts if they did as they pleased. You're right about cowgirls not being an especially efficient source of milk, but then again if we're working under fantasy rules where every woman on Earth could find her DNA spliced with that of an animal and *not* either end up almost instantly dead or turned into some kind of unspeakable monstrosity, then the door is open for some extra bits of fantasy, like cowgirls being able to generate gallons of milk a day despite having tits that aren't even capable of producing that much fluid in a week or even being able to ingest that much fluid in a day.

Technically, it would probably make the most sense to turn women into piggirls since we're so close to pigs anyway from a genetic point of view, though there wouldn't be much immediate benefit from suddenly having 3 billion piggirls running around the world unless you want them breeding and being used for food (or at least their offspring being turned into porkchops, Easters hams and so on).

I guess the kind of world you want to end up with also depends on the kinds of transformations you want women to undergo. Either they become cute animalgirls that are still almost entirely human with only a few superficial physical changes (ears and maybe a tail) so that the women who are changes are able to continue to living their normal lives without TOO much upheaval, or you have women endure more fundamental changes to both their minds and bodies that force them to behave and/or be treated like animals, whether they like it or not.

I'm imagining a slow loss of rights as women everywhere slowly de-evolve into piggirls over the course of a year, especially once it's discovered that women are losing some of their higher mental functions as they change, meaning that it can no longer be guaranteed that any woman is in full control of her faculties.

Realistically, women's rights would probably be reduced to that of children's - they wouldn't be allowed to hold property or manage large sums of money or valuable property since they they might be manipulated by men while having a "slow" day, and their testimony in court and legal dealing would be dubious at best since their memories and power of agency would be fundamentally suspect.

And that's assuming any women would ever be allowed into a court of law again or even be able to handle money or sign a contract once they've been reduced to crawling around naked on all fours with stiff, useless trotters for hands and feet and barely able to speak around all the grunts, groans and squeals they now make.

And if you wanted to push the women = meat thing, perhaps men could also be altered to start seeing women as animals and start to push for their use as pets, livestock and food more than they normally would have, so that by the end of that first year of transformation, laws really have been passed stripping all women of their human rights and making it legal to keep any female as livestock, suitable for mass breeding and butchering for food.

Not that every woman would end up as porkchops overnight - in fact, many women might get bought up by their friends and family to be used as pets or to simply keep strangers from eating them first, though I imagine that within 5 years, most currently-living women would end up as Easter hams or on someone's plate with a red apple in their mouths, while the hundreds of piglets they were forced to produce before being shipped off to the slaughterhouse take their place on the farms…

That could be interesting, especially if the species women turn into are varied enough to guarantee that you could fill a zoo with a random selection of women rather than women just becoming pet and livestock animals.

Like, fat and lazy women wouldn't just automatically become pigs, but could become anything from a selection of large & slow creatures - pigs, whales, manatees, elephants, turtles, etc. And thin neurotic women wouldn't just necessarily become a donkey, but maybe instead anything from a gazelle to a rabbit or a fox.

In fact, I can see every woman's combination of body type and personality lending herself to being part of a kind of animal zodiac that contains all the different kinds of animal species she might become, but what species out of that group she'll be won't be known until she's farther along the transformation process…

Which has me wondering, how human would every woman still be in this anthro animal world? Would women turning into whales have to worry about how they'll survive in the open sea, or will they still be human enough to keep running around on two legs and living in human society?

Oh, yeah! I remember reading it a couple years ago.

Yeah, there are so many possibilities for stories. And I like the species reflecting personalities thing, but maybe with some twists. I liked to imagine maybe one or two girls I know who were extroverted and athletic turning into pigs and cows, for instance.

Like, imagine a situation where you think you're gonna become a horse, or whatever. And you're all prepped up for being this pretty sexy anthro, a life of being petted and adored. You've got a choice between anthro studs or just human guys because hey, who doesn't like horse girls?

How should a mandatory milking program for women work, though? Should all reproductive-aged women in every country receive a summons for a mandatory dairy inspection, where the size, weight and dairy capacity of their tits is judged and the women are either given some kind of magical shot that induced lactation right there, or are forced to begin some kind of drug regimine that'll eventually induce lactation?

Or should women just be forced to lactate against their will even more magically, as the result of someone snapping their finger or some kind of even more magical lactation-inducing virus going around that eventually infects all of womanhood?

Either way, it would be hot if women were either forced to milk themselves at home or report to public milking centers where anyone else gets to watched them making their daily contribution, maybe even naked and on all fours like real dairy cows.

The quality and capacity of every woman's tits could become public record (and maybe even displayed while they're being milked), so you can think about buying an individual woman's milk for yourself while watching all the women you know herded together and treated like livestock.

It only took, what, 2-3 days for everyone on the ship to completely lose their minds, even before a some of the crewmembers physical transformations had gotten very far.

Actually, human/cow hybrids would be rather good at milk production.

Since humans are, basically, constantly in estrus, a human female doesn't need to have been bred to lactate.

Our digestive system are also FAR more robust, since we aren't ruminants specialized in fermenting cellulose from grasses, allowing use to make better use of more complex nutritional sources.

This also allows our milk to be far more nutritious than regular cows milk.

You are right that dedicated milk production would require a far larger caloric intake.

No, Cowgirls could be HUGELY efficient dairy producers, since they wouldn't require to have a new kid every 18 months to keep their teats from going dry, it's how much FOOD they have to eat to MAKE the milk in the first place.

Doesn't need to be all that "forced" if it becomes a matter of biology; If women were changed so that they constantly lactated, they'd pretty much have to milk themselves regularly.

Now, for me, I'm tempted to turn everyone into Cowgirls… or even Cow SLUG girls…
