;__;

I love it.

it just got a smattering of dead pixels and its growing.

Can I buy a 4:3 somewhere else? or a 5:4? I fucking hate widescreen displays and can't shell out $1000+ for a screen.

How do I save it, if possible??? Running at 1024x768 75fps.

This is the end

Beautiful friend

This is the end

My only friend

The end

Of our elaborate plans, the end

Of everything that stands, the end

No safety or surprise, the end

I'll never look into your eyes again

Can you picture what will be?

So limitless and free

Desperately in need

Of some stranger's hand

In a desperate land

Lost in a Roman wilderness of pain

And all the children are insane

All the children are insane

Waiting for the summer rain, yeah

There's danger on the edge of town

Ride the King's Highway, baby

Weird scenes inside the gold mine

Ride the highway west, baby

Ride the snake, ride the snake

To the lake, the ancient lake, baby

The snake, he's long, seven miles

Ride the snake

He's old and his skin is cold

The west is the best

The west is the best

Get here and we'll do the rest

The blue bus is calling us

The blue bus is calling us

Driver, where you taking us?

The killer awoke before dawn

He put his boots on

He took a face from the ancient gallery

And he walked on down the hall

He went into the room where his sister lived, and then he

Paid a visit to his brother, and then he

He walked on down the hall, and

And he came to a door

And he looked inside

"Father?" "Yes, son?" "I want to kill you"

"Mother? I want to..."

Come on baby, take a chance with us

Come on baby, take a chance with us

Come on baby, take a chance with us

And meet me at the back of the blue bus

Of the blue bus, on the blue bus, on the blue bus

Come on yeah

Fuck, fuck

Fuck fuck, fuck, fuck

Come on baby, fuck me baby yeah

Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck

Come on baby, fuck me baby

Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck

Come on

Fuck fuck

Alright

Fuck fuck

Kill, kill, kill, kill

This is the end

Beautiful friend

This is the end

My only friend, the end

It hurts to set you free

But you'll never follow me

The end of laughter and soft lies

The end of nights we tried to die

This is the end of your 16yo 4:3 monitor

I feel your pain, but good 4:3 displays are not hard to find if you know what you're looking for.

Learn how to visually identify the models you want and keep an eye out for people your local gumtree/craigslist equivilent. I got 2 HP LP2065s for $10 each from a bloke who showed me his garden while explaining that he used to dabble in graphic design before retiring and that's why he had these high-end monitors.

The CCFLs are technically rated for 50k hours, and while I doubt most'll last that long, supplies shouldn't be running out just yet.

If it absolutely must be new, Eizo do make 4:3 LED displays, but they're expensive for what you're getting.

motion blur has not been a problem for desktop LCDs since the early 2000s when working with text. I don't notice it at all on IPS monitors from 2006. That said, it's still around for laptop screens since no one seems to give a fuck beyond the specs they can put on paper. My mother recently bought an MS surface laptop, and while the resolution is great, any contrasting elements leave visual streaks when dragged accross the screen. It's seriously one of the worst LCDs I've seen since the very early days.

If you're watching movies, or playing games, yes, CRT or plasma is the only way to go.

are you blind? before i knew it was caused by motion blur, i actually couldn't tell whether the problem is caused by LCD or graphics or my perception. but it's there and it's obvious. even reading text in the terminal moving up the screen is hard. also IPS from 2006 have especially bad motion blur lol

>>917361

Unless we're talking CRTs - which thrift stores are unlikely to carry - you'll be hard pressed to find good Samsung or Sony 4:3 monitors.

Dell and HP had the lion's share of business contracts and businesses are far more likely to fit out their offices with expensive monitors than home consumers are.

The Dell U2007 and HP LP2065 are the last generation of easily available UXGA IPS LCDs, but unfortunately both suffer from a panel lottery, so you have to be careful.

Actually, there should be a law that stipulated allowed aspect ratios, sizes and resolution/refresh rate multiples for all screens with static pixel grids, and the law should also touch any form of video and the display output of operating systems and programs.

>The only allowed screen shape is a rectangle

>Dynamic pixel grid screens are exempt from resolution restrictions and are allowed to support any resolution outside the allowed resolutions, but must have a setting for every allowed resolution below their maximum spec

>The same applies to dynamic refresh rate screens in regards to refresh rate

>The same applies to dynamic physical size screens in regards to physical size

>The same applies to dynamic aspect ratio screens (dynamic aspect ratio includes shutting down columns of pixels in the left and/or right edges) in regards to aspect ratio

>The only allowed aspect ratios are 2:1, 1.25:1 and 2.5:1

>The only allowed screen sizes are prime numbers, in centimeters, measured by the length of the broad side of an 1 pixel wide column of the monitor's pixel grid

>The vertical pixel count of a screen must be the "validheight" number of pixels acquired by replacing "x" with a whole number in the equation "500 * 2 ^ x = validheight", and it must support all allowed resolutions below its maximum resolution.

>Every form of video not produced in real time must be in a supported resolution

>Every form of video produced in real time must support all supported aspect ratios and resolutions natively until video data naturally produces a buffer overflow

>Every interface must support dynamic PPC (pixels per centimeter) scaling at the user's choice, by virtually changing the reference vertical screen size based on the user input of a valid screen height in a setting, and the highest screen size supported must be 1299709cm. 1299709 is the 100000th prime number.

>Every screen must not support refresh rates below 50hz, every screen is only allowed to support the resulting refresh rates matching "validrefresh" when you a whole number into x in the equation "50 * 2 ^ x = validrefresh", every screen must support all valid refresh rates below their maximum refresh rate.

>Every non real time video must be at an allowed screen refresh rate

I'm pretty sure _widescreen_ is a meme. What benefit does it offer over 4:3 or 5:4? Does it look cool like the movie theater screen? Also the calculator screen industry went to shit just after a few widescreens came out. Now every screen has to have an OS and take 10 seconds to boot / change video mode. Menus take 3 seconds to display after pressing the menu button. The screen takes 1 second to react to a button press (e.g. arrow button).

Since the botnet fully reached its total maximum around 2013 though the EMF brain patent were here 17 years ago.

Like I said, you could crack it open (not adviced for ccfl due to mercury vapor) or look for the paper online and see which patent numbers were used on the product even lookup what those patents are about

That's why I recommend the business line.

Ever wonder why baby boomers made so many babies? For capitalism? Consumerism (commercials)? Yes, the patents at work! Luckily the infected consumer CRT TVs are now phased out though there are still LCD monitors and smart TVs now which still use the same technologies - just look for the patent numbers.

>it's IPS so there's no more need to calibrate

IPS whitepoints are usually a bit yellowish but are easier to color calibrate than my 14yo sunlight exposed monitor

>>920037

Widescreen is forced marketing meme.

They want wider horizontals not verticals that is due to the fact they can't achieve excellent top/bottom viewing angles with a horizontal RGB pixel like on the old TFT screens plus those are expensive so they had to (((maximize))) the profit

So it only gets wider and right now is around 21:9

though the IPS should already fix this vertical RGB viewing angle problem, it seems that the "lets make screens wider" meme right now is just a vestigial.
