Even Linus uses light theme and gets work done.
Dark theme is only used by LARPing NEETs.
Prove me wrong, protip: you can't!

The one who is LARPer here is Linus. He wrote only a kernel and tells everyone Linux is the OS, whereas what he actually should say is "GNU/Linux". He also uses some shit meme as his distro - Ubuntu with spywawre or Fedora, both systemdicked.

Here in Germany, it's fucking unbearable in the summer, so I have the shutters down all the time, and I don't want to waste electricity by turning on the lights, so I use the dark theme, as the light theme in a dark room just hurts the eyes.

Why would you actually store your data in /home/<username> rather than on a completely separate logical volume mounted separately? Keeping data in /home is like keeping data in the preexisting "My Documents" in Windows (where many if not most installed programs take a dump in and clutter it up with random files).

LCD screens use more power though for displaying dark pixels (as opposed to CRTs).

ftfy
Only reason everything is bright these days is retards hating on grey and black because of muh modern ui, big corps like google, flat themes etc.
Interfaces were grey for a reason and Youtube was dark grey to black too.

Only basement dwellers use dark themes.
>muh nostalgia
Completely false, as the first GUIs used dark text on light background everywhere.
