Does anyone know exactly what type of IDE port this is? (IDE is what I've been told, I may be wrong.)

 No.1062374

LD50 SCSI perhaps?

 No.1062380

Not a Standard IDE connector, and only really found in external IDE bays like that.

I think I've got the same model...

SCSI variant.

There were similar on laptops for docking stations during that period. You should find type confirmation written somewhere on the circuit board. Ask them for the front handle that is missing if you intend to use it. Otherwise it will be a bugger to remove.

Nup, definitely IDE, even if it's using a 50-pin SCSI-ish physical connector. You can see the bus lines are interleaved (DD0-DD15) on the PCB, whereas SCSI has them all on one side (the other side being the diff-pair)

Yeah, we totally have to know every nook and cranny of a machine released 35 years ago.

Because you're a retarded faggot.

3M50P Maybe

50 Pin Centronics type D Maybe

SCSI1 compatible probably. 8 bit connector. You can probably find an adapter to connected to an IDE. Then you can connect that to a SATA if you want to actually recover data from old drives or something like that. Those kind of drives are pure gold though 1.5GB goes for something in the way of $350 refurbished. Where did you find this thing?

"I have that same removable drive bay, it's for IDE drives"

>shut up nigger it's SCSI

The PCB tracks indicate it's IDE wiring

>shut up nigger it's SCSI

"That's not the correct SCSI/'Centronics' connector though

>shut up nigger, it's SCSI

ffs. The connector that goes to the computer has 40 pins. It's IDE signals into a non-standard 50 pin cable because they're cheap.

 No.1062712>>1062723

>>1062668

it may have the pins but that thing wont fit in any ide connector. its old scsi drives that use those connectors.

 No.1062723>>1062768 >>1062774

>>1062712

>shut up nigger it's SCSI

the proprietary connector connects to the removable drive tray, and than that has another PCB which interfaces the 50 pin cable to the 40 pin drive... ffs.

 No.1062768

that could work but for some reason its not in the picture so theres no way to know what it really is

 No.1062774>>1062920

>>1062723

They are using the 50pin scsi so they don't need to bring down the 4 pin molex for power and they can just bring it down on the connector.

It's an ide interface using a scsci connector using the extra pins to bring power down to the drive.

 No.1062920

>>1062774

Wow, finally a reasonable answer going beyond the "hurr it's scsi" and "hurr it's not scsi it's ide" which we had thus far, thank you.
