https://devblogs.microsoft.com/commandline/shipping-a-linux-kernel-with-windows/

>Beginning with Windows Insiders builds this Summer, we will include an in-house custom-built Linux kernel to underpin the newest version of the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). This marks the first time that the Linux kernel will be included as a component in Windows.

I don't know what to do with this feel

 No.1061996

Well, like your post already says, Windows Subsystems for Linux has been a thing for I don't know, several fucking years now and already has quite a bit of compatibility with GNU/Linux software. So I really don't understand what's so surprising about this. Currently WSL requires you to install Ubuntus utils to get shit like apt and basic GNU compatibility but it looks like Microsoft is trying to gut that requirement.

Testing the waters. I firmly believe this is their actual end plan for Windows, but they don't want to risk an all-in. So they go little to little adding bits of Linux here and there.

This would actually be the worst case scenario. Because the windows faggots would infect unix more then unix is already shit. Thereby mothballing the pile of shit that is windows with the polished turd that is linux, making a steamy pile of bullshit.

Oh and then there's all the nsa backdoors implemented since windows vista that would go unoticed or ignored. Along with the code quality being horse shit.

The problem with this is that Microsoft would still remain the Technicological Arm of the Zionist Occupational Government, and would have a million and 1 backdoors with code so bloated it'd be impossible to remove them all (think Chromium's code times 10 billion)

>>1062169

Linux Zealots are already retarded, and I doubt that Microsoft/Linux would be taken seriously in the UNIX world. I also think that since a lot of Linux Zealots don't know what UNIX is, any thing they do would remain centric to reddit posts.

I already see how tards are reacting.

"I don't have to run Linux anymore, I got it right at home, here on windows!"

By the way the GPL2 is about as much of a cuck license as all the non-copyleft licenses for allowing the abomination of mixing proprietary and free software to exist.

 No.1062620

>>1062618

The GPL2 is a distribution license. There is nothing that can be done when people want to bundle proprietary software together with "not linked GPL software". The GPL can only apply to the distribution of GPL software that is "linked" with other software.

All according to plan

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embrace,_extend,_and_extinguish

>Embrace, extend, and extinguish",[1] also known as "embrace, extend, and exterminate",[2] is a phrase that the U.S. Department of Justice found[3] was used internally by Microsoft[4] to describe its strategy for entering product categories involving widely used standards, extending those standards with proprietary capabilities, and then using those differences to strongly disadvantage its competitors.
