Hello /tech/, I have a wwan connectivity problem I addressed to my mobile provider and they were unable to solve. I've done some digging and found this possible solution_

http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/cf-31-mk4-mc7750-wwan-and-ubuntu-linux.820542/

I'm having trouble using these commands in my terminal. Can anyone sort of digest these commands for me, I'm having trouble understanding them. New to linux, ubuntu, etc.

thanks in advance

I wanna add also, I'm using the same wwan card (MC7750), so it's the same identifying numbers.

Anon before you starting fucking around with instructions on Ubuntu 16, Ubuntu 19 will out in another month.

Run

apt-get update -y && apt-get upgrade -y && apt-get dist-upgrade -y

let's have a look at the instructions.

Run lsusb to get the device's identifying numbers. Replace each instance of 1C9E and 9605 below with the correct values for the device on your system, as revealed in this step.

But maybe it's not a usb device so get output from lspci instead.

I'm not sure what those identifying numbers are going to be on your machine anon because I don't have this machine or problems.

N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.

Anyway: have you tried another distro? Does it exhibit the same problems under Windows?

kek

OP here, got the problem fixed. I just had a shitty card I guess, so I bought another wwan card and it recognized the service right away. I don't think I'll be trading Ubuntu for anything tbh. Ubuntu recognized my wacom tablet right away without drivers or none of that windows bloat garbage. It just werkz.

Card I'm using now is an MC7355, compatible with verizon, at&t, and sprint as well. This thing recognized the network right away. All I did was call verizon and pair it up with the bot assistant, of all things.
