You don't buy it for tech support. You buy it because the POS hardware breaks easily, and that is likely to happen after your first complementary year. The internals of the macbook are all glued together (I think it's two separate boards) so it's always ridiculously expensive. I had one once, and when the battery died they had to replace even the keyboard and trackpad. If the RAM fails, then you'll be getting a new CPU and everything on the "mainboard".

I hated my Macbook Pro. Thing weighed a ton, had a lousy battery, shit for storage, and its OS was too limiting. God, I hated that thing: 1200$ wasted.
