I hear anons here talk about "ANSI C", often in reference to "ANSI C" vs "C11". However, the name "ANSI C" is a misnomer, and C11 (and C18) are still ISO standards, just like "ANSI C" is. So what gives? Can any cfags give me a clear reason of the differences?

It's C89, the version that K&R 2nd edition covers. Says "updated for ANSI C" or something like that on the cover.

ANSI C is C89. The first ISO C is C90.
