whats the worst development software you were forced to use, for what ever reason? For me it was last year when i was in a sequential logic class and we were forced to use Altera Quartus. The down link for linux didnt work at the time so i was forced to use windows. it crashed randomly. things would magically break and not compile without you changing anything. it would forget were certain programs were on your computer even though they didnt change anything so you had to go on a scavanage hunt to find it. to top it all off it took 2 mins to compile anything on my 2 core computer. 2 mins for anything including 3 lines of code. it was bad.

BlueJ

it's babby's first java IDE

it's intentionally very simple for the sake of learning (used it for freshman level CS classes), but it's too simple and lacks a lot of really basic features, and it also has scope highlighting as well as syntax highlighting and for whatever reason the performance is really terrible, just for viewing java code in an editor

LogicWorks 5. We had to use it for the lab section in a Digital Logic course. It was kinda buggy, but really I just hated having to debug timing issues with that ugly interface.

I had to do this too. Some of the VHDL we were working on would not compile properly, and we had to go digging through bundled example code to see how to use the libraries. Funny thing was that there was no indication that the prof or lab TA's had any idea how that shit worked.

Hah yeah, they probably didn't. At least you got to use VHDL. We were forced to use the diagram mode ><

Notepad on windows to make a frontend html application (.hta for those fortunate to never have heard of it) for mixed vbscript and jscript spaghetti because nothing else was authorized. Once upon a time I would do anything for money, never again.
