/tan/ - Board-tans

Request-tan, also known as Mail-tan or Post-tan in the beginning, is an adult caucasian woman with red hair in a voluminous bobcut, grey eyes with thick red eyebrows and long eyelashes styled to look like a letterbox flag, full lips, and arrow-shaped golden earrings. She wears an ornate brown postman's hat with a red rim, golden studs and rings, a postman symbol on the front and the infinity logo on the back, and even a little letterbox flag on the side. Her usual work outfit consists of a white sleeveless shirt, a small scarf that doubles as a necktie, a red buttoned skirt, and her purple postman satchel with golden accents, including a golden infinity logo. No information exists on her footwear, but in addition to her clothing she applies dark nail polish to her fingernails.

Request-tan may appear a little absent at times, but she's fully dedicated to her job. She spends every drawthread sorting the good from the bad requests and makes sure any deliveries find their way back to the original requester. Alhough the occasional lack of good requests can be frustrating, she's still happy whenever she sees a new request come in.

Trash-tan is an adult caucasian woman with jet black straight hair featuring an ahoge at the front, and dark eyes. She wears a trashcan lid as a hat, has a mildly tired look in her eyes, and will sometimes chew on a wheat stalk. She wears a pale yellow single shoulder shirt, a pair of loose overalls that can vary from blueish grey to dark green, and yellow work gloves and shoes.

Although there is a /trash/ board, Trash-tan is not its board-tan. Instead, she's preoccupied in the drawthreads with cleaning up and removing all trash requests. Trash-tan is implied not to be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but she performs her job satisfactorily despite the high volume of work that's often provided for her. It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it, and Trash-tan continues to take on the work vigorously without complaint.

Wherever there is a drawthread, eventually the scum will gather. These creatures have a grey humanoid body that looks like a cross between a heavily emaciated person and a full-on skeleton - quite literal skin and bones - and a face reminiscent of the baitfish from various reaction images, with pupilless eyes and a big maw.

The scum are singleminded creatures with a fixation on a sole person, object, or action (or a combination thereof) typically involving a waifu-esque character, and will doggedly request anyone who'll hear them to draw it. Naive drawfags who foolishly hope granting their request will make them leave will be sorely disappointed. The scum are not ghosts: rather than make them leave, fulfilled requests will only embolden them to stay and request more of the same. Short of snuffing out drawthreads altogether, there has yet to be found an effective way to remove them. Luckily, while the scum are pests and can ruin the mood or even drive off drawfags, they are not directly dangerous. People are advised to ignore and filter them.

These days, Request-tan shares her duties with the Request and Delivery Anchors. As they're identical, it's unclear if these are two different anchors, or the same anchor performing dual duties. Usually the anchors are exactly that, but sometimes they become slightly anthropomorphised, possessing a metallic blue middle aged woman's naked body, except with rings for hands and feet, and with an upside down anchor for a head. These heads lack features, so the anchor(s) can't communicate verbally, but from their body language they appear to be sentient and somehow able to see and understand their environment.
