/tan/ - Board-tans

/v/-tan is presented as a male humanoid around his early twenties, with a literal white skin colour, no nose and an oddly round head. His clothing can be limited to simple jeans and an otherwise plain white shirt with "/v/" emblazoned on it. Most of his design is a carryover from the old halfchan /v/ design ("Vanilla /v/"), but in the events leading up to the Exodus he gained an eyepatch over his right eye, a scar over his other, scruffy facial hair, a cape and a synthetic left arm of varying design. This new /v/-tan is also referred to as "Punished /v/".

His character remains much the same, to what extent people agree over this. He's obsessed with videogames, yet his enormously high standards for them lead him to have a love/hate (LOTS of hate) relationship with vidya and their industry. /v/ has a short fuse and is therefore quick to anger, although Punished /v/ seems to have somewhat better control over it, choosing cold wrath over hot fury.

/vr/-tan, /v/'s older brother, is a regular human male in his late twenties. He's a perpetual optimist with a sunny disposition and a passion for retro videogames, who seems to be stuck living in the past of the 20th century. His fashion sense reflects this: /vr/ sports a pompadour and the beginnings of a goatee, and wears 3D glasses (underneath which is another pair of 3D glasses). He wears an open red shirt with a light colored shirt underneath, and jeans. Apart from his 3D glasses, his biggest signature item is the Nintendo Power Glove he always wears on his right arm.

Rather than always focusing on the negative like /v/, /vr/ instead prefers to look at the good aspects of yesteryear's games. He's also more than happy to spend time with his little brother and have him partake in his nostalgia, despite /v/ not always being the easiest person to deal with.
