Disney may own the trademark, but they can't own the universe that lives in all our heads. I know some Troopers are working on the Wiki project, and we've got an awesome memester and artist here in our Photomorph threads, but what can the rest of us do? Every so often we get cool fan projects like that Tie Fighter animated short, and others, would it be possible for us on /sw/ to start telling stories in a galaxy far far away?

Should we all just work on our own? And if we do write stories, or something along those lines, where should we publish them? Just make threads?

And what about social media? Do any of you have accounts on other websites we should be following, like YouTube Channels or the like?

We should continue work on our own projects, we can talk about them here; reddit is too astroturfed for real discussion, twitter is fucking checkmarked garbage, maybe other sw forums idfk.

One thing is certain, the mouse can never truly kill SW, as long as we continue to keep it alive.

i found a fanon version of the EU somewhere of the internet which is kinda cool.

I think we should create a website where people can buy/sell their old EU stuff (books, comics) so that way Disney will not get any money from us

Is it even necessary to do anything at this point? Disney is essentially killing the franchise and their own canon by themselves. Loss of profits in 2018 proved that. EA regretting the Star Wars license on games further enforces that. I don't think we really need to do anything at this point except continuing to push the EU. When normies talk about how much they dislike the sequels, bring up the EU to get them interested in what could have been. Now is the time to do this.

We can't rely on them fucking up continously, we really need to hammer it home. The problem is that normalfags *want* to like Star Wars, and Abrams has shown numerous times that he knows how to play people, so he might do it again with Episode 9. So yeah, it is very necessary in my opinion.

Doing creative stuff without Disney in mind would be a good direction to take this board. Complaining is easy, but it gets stale and boring.

Social media can be useful but less in regards to shilling or raiding and more in terms of content curation. Like sharing reading recommendations for different parts of the EU to make it more accessible and less overwhelming for newcomers.

We could also ask /tg/ for help when it comes to fanon projects that involve world building.
