You'd be surprised. My older neighbors and even my old man went to see the movie just because others told them Yoda was in it. They loved the crap out of his few seconds so much they even said they "hated the movie, but that one scene more than made up for it". Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

Reminder that Rey may actually be the reincarnation of the Dianoga from the Death Star's trash compactor who according to Disney was just a misunderstood lady shaman who just wanted to give Luke and friends a dianogan baptism and gave them force powers. She then used the force to play with trash as she contemplated her next reincarnation.

Im not surprised. JJ has been virtue signalling hard since he got beef for ST Into Darkness being too sexist for having a chick in underwear. He only became more of a faggot after TFA. As if being a mediocre yet lucky director who relies on empty mystery boxes and has strong ties with Spielberg wasnt bad enough.

Might as well ask in this thread: was TLJ's Yoda its worst insult?
Because of the leaks and criticisms I decided to veer off and just follow the stupidness from afar but situations had me pirate it. Thought I would show someone just how bad things got, they still enjoyed it.
Long story short, many things just rinsed off of me but the Yoda scene was something else; he implies her emotions make her enough of a Jedi, compare that to
>Luke's strife with Vader as opponent
>Sidious' "Let the anger flow through you"
>Anakin/Vader
>Yoda pointing out Anakin's emotional faults in Episode I
And let's say this is all one messed up reboot: what are the differences between Disney Jedi and Sith? Both are emotional, both fight for whatever side took them under their wing, both are ugly as fuck.
Is this right or this fuckery aligns with a previous concensus about the force?

Depends on how you define "worst." Luke's horrible characterization and complete 180 from where he was at RotJ is definitely the insult that was felt by fans the most, and of everything that transpired is the most blatant and easily visible of Johnson's "fuck you"s to the fanbase because LOL SUBVERSION. However, you do raise a good point in that the Yoda cameo, while subtler and less visible, was a more complete spit in the face of the old canon. I too haven't actually seen the film, but given the sheer number of scene-by-scene criticisms of it that I've watched I probably know more about the film than most of the actual moviegoers by now.

I hate how people say that TLJ's Yoda is fine because: "he was like that in the OT". It's wrong. He acted like a crazy midget to test Luke. When Luke found out who he was, he turned into a mentor.

Luke was one of the worst things, but I knew they were gonna butcher his character the minute I saw TFA so it didn't really hit me with as much anger and shock when I saw it. It was like "yeah, I knew this would happen. I knew they would do this kind of bullshit. Why anyone thought things would be any different is beyond me"

I'm going to echo what others have posted here and say that Luke's characterization was the worst insult of TLJ. I think Mark did the best he could with the shit he was given, but the character was written so incredibly poorly that they could have replaced Luke wholesale with a totally new, previously unheard of elderly Jedi master and it would have made more sense than what we got.
For fuck's sake, TLJ's Luke was willing to sneak into a teenager's bedroom in the middle of the night and contemplate murdering him with a lightsaber. Yeah, Yoda's characterization was pretty fuckin' bad too, but Luke got it way worse. I can't even imagine how somebody could go from the most optimistic guy in the galaxy, who managed to turn Vader back to the light, to a grumpy old dude thinking about slaughtering kids while they slumber.

Yeah, that is atrocious but I pushed it aside since like the characters the new bull load introduces, they have him act a part without making sense in that world: it is supremely stupid to have Luke in the spot of 'Master who is afraid of boundaries', he is a Jedi by practice -which would sound exceptional in Republic times- and as such he barely has imparted knowledge or traditions of old Jedi ways.
While writing that last part I was about to call Jedi ways 'old canon' but I guess it makes too much sense they are working overtime to destroy even the memory of that.
