Actually I am surprised it hasn't had a thread on here already considering it is a good parody of TOS. Must confess I do not remember much about it so will rewatch it sometime and make webms of it. /strek/ movienight when?

Galaxy Quest is so enjoyable for all the same reasons that Orville is enjoyable: It approaches the whole concept, from the show, to the actors, to conventions and fandom, and even to wonky soft sci-fi pretending to be hard sci-fi, with love and respect. It's not mean-spirited in it's humor at the expense of a beloved franchise.

I think there was going to be a Galaxy Quest tv show, which could have worked fantastically IMO, but then Alan Rickman died. So the concept then became the Orville.
