Name changing meme is a meme whose name continually and purposefully changes by its community who posts it. It is self-explanatory. Most of the names that refer to it descibe characteristics of the naming and systems of the transmission of the meme itself. A minority of the socially recognized names describe unrelated concepts, often coined by distributors at will competitively in hopes of adoption by the community at-large. A common running gag is that nobody seems to understand the meaning of the meme or why it is frequently posted. Sometimes, when a phrase is associated with the memeplex strongly enough the main imagery associated with it will be completely replaced by very different imagery, often seemingly random. The face shown in the meme is considered by many in the community to be AI generated, and not that of a real person. Nicknames commonly spontaneously arise for the supposed character.
