RT's new show, toted as "two parts samurai jack" one part something else.

Seems more like Wonder of Yonder with decent student animation. Definitely not action with how fast the "jokes" come. Unless the joke was they built it up like an action show and it wasn't

I have a sneaking suspicion this will be the last time we talk about this show.

Camp Camp is better if you want animated comedy from them. This is OK for a kids show, but even this is beneath their usual audience. I'd have thought. Just seems odd having this along side Barbra's sex chat show and Michael screaming fuck every other minute.

It's going to be bad. Even after seeing It's not in fact, a mixture of true grit, samurai jack and lord of the rings like they proported.

Unless they pull a RWBY season 3 and say "Oh wow guys look how mature we are now!" In which case the first episode completely failed to portray that tone.

That said, I like how the Nomad is a parlor trick magician, basically. What I don't like, is the fact that it's not about discovering the mystery of both the Nomad, and what "Nowhere" is as they chase him down, without ever really seeing him but seeing what he's done.

Even if they kept it as a comedy, imagine the country girl and "The empire" or whatever going around the world, she saves them from monsters, rebels, and weirdos using her smarts, there's some world building & mystery, a few serious bits etc.

The Nomad is blamed for a lot of stuff. Some of it was him, most of it wasn't (as the country girl discovers) then she finally finds the Nomad… And then the reveal.

How much more impact would that have as a joke?

Then again, "dork mute walking around strange world" can work if done correctly.

No no, I understand that different genres would have taken it to totally different directions. Still though, it would make for a "Misunderstood goodguy".

I get that it can be done correctly, but that's basically code for "It's bad" In my experience. I'm not holding out any breath for it, but here it goes. I'll watch the first few episodes.

I'm more excited for some indie guys series that looks like it came off of deviantart than this. If you can enjoy this, then you can enjoy a lot of things, good sir.

You think it's trash, because it is trash.

It's designed for 8 year olds. Its a weird thing it's like xray and vav meets rwby in the worst way possible.

I'm just so incredibly confused, even if we discount the fact that they billed it like an action show and it wasn't, what in the fuck was the point of making this kiddie show? RT's target audience really wouldn't want this kind of thing, hence the ridiculous marketing I guess, but why not just put together an action show?

I mean, I'm baffled with the way RT handles most things but I can at least kind of chalk it up to them being especially bad at their respective jobs, but this is just baffling to me. Are they chasing a child audience? Are they going to try and do a hard swerve and make it mature later on? Like what the fuck?

I'm pretty sure at this point that a majority of rooster teeth fans are bellow the age of 13. This isn't criticism it is just an assumption based on what products they make and promote.
