I'm pretty sure we can all agree that this show isn't very good, yet we keep watching.
What's the reason that we keep watching?
For me it's was mainly so I can joke around with it on /co/ and now here.
Yang is best girl.

Interesting to say the least.
I mean Monty just kinda put this weird universe in my face without any context. I;m only able to understand it little by little each episode so I keep watching just to know what the fuck is going on.
Until I get some real world building and character development, then I might actually enjoy it.
also because Weiss

While the action scenes are cool and the characters are mainly cute girls, the only thing keeping me into RWBY is you guys

I watch it in hopes it will get better over time. RvB started out shaky and got better, so should RWBY.

But it IS good.
In fact, considering the circumstances in which it is produced, I would go so far as to say that RWBY is absolutely AMAZING.

I like it because it has amazing potential. sure, they need to Iron out a few details in the programs they use, and write better / hire a better writer, but the reason why I like it is the same as I like the Blood Gulch Chronicles: it's home grown, born out of a love of anime.

Its not the best thing in the world but it's a damn fun ride. Volume 2 got better as if they actually listened to criticism and gave me hope it'll just get better from there. Hope RT can get it together with the loss of Monty though.
Also waifus.

monty oums fight scenes were glorious
rwby season 1 looked like shit except for when monty did the fight scenes
ive been watching monty oum fight scenes since halo vs metroid and i just loved the action
now hes gone it just doesnt have the same feel to it, and it doesnt have cute waifu shipping fluff now with people losing arms and dying its too serious
but i cant abandon the series now, that seems lame to just give up before i finished it

Anyway, I watch this show because it's a kind of symbol. The only thing that drew me to it in the first place was Monty Oum. I never really cared about the show, and I always knew that every non-Monty element (save for some music) was bad. But now, it's a symbol of an artist who died before he could realize his dream. And in a way, watching his dream be destroyed somehow gives me drive for my own.

yeah the plot and animation is pretty bad, but I really like the chara designs
I think RT should of rolled with how crappy it was and make it slice-of-life; I thought season 1 was cute and I liked the light-heartedness. And they could make some meta jokes about the quality.
Sure, it wasn't like the trailers we were given but I still enjoyed the kawaii weeb humor.
I think it would be easier for them too instead of trying to write a serious plot.
But it's their show so they can do whatever and the world isn't perfect so I'm ok with what I'm given.

Partly nostalgia for old stickfighting cartoons which the fighting in RWBY reminds me of, and partly because I like most of the character designs.

This. I used to be an avid watcher, but now it's just a warning to people who wish to make something. Don't fucking die with stuff still going, it'll only be raped. Any franchise that was born by a creator, then either sold to others or gets eaten up by a company turns to shit. This show is just the hardest hitting one for me because I watched Monty for a while, wanting to make animations like him. I was intrigued by the Trailers for RWBY, and tried watching it. The show was shit, but I loved the action. Then, you know, he died, they chopped up his story before it could even start, lost his awesome fights, and have built it into this thing that just repulses me when I try to watch anything post fall of bacon. Hell, even that season was very irritable. Unfortunately, I was hooked to the characters that got killed off, or they've been given shitty development. I just wish Monty was here and that he could make more of what was in the trailers.

"We have to stop radical faunus terrorism, alright we have to, we've got to knock out the white fang. Let me tell you folks, most of them, they won't name the problem, they won't say it. Those Faunus refugees, they have to go back. Ozpin took them in and look what happened to Beacon, multiple white fang terrorist attacks. Its going to happen with me folks let me tell you."

I was watching up until episode 4, V4. I could take some kind of morbid interest out of it despite the terrible writing and characters. No, actually, I'd say that Yang was the only character who kept me interested because she's best girl and would have made for a far better interesting character.
But I think V4 really took a nosedive in terms of quality. I never thought bad writers could be even worse in their craft, but apparently it's a thing. The entire thing became so shallow, it might as well be as dry as the Sahara. The whole "le weak should fear le strong" crap from Raven is what ticked me off. That's when I realized the show would never improve. That's when I realized they would just keep shoehorning their crap into the writing.
The one thing that made me stop, however, was the fact that the writers are retarded libshits who I'm pretty sure have shoehorned their bullshit ideology into the story. Take the faunus, for example; they're basically niggers except they have animal features. They even got the whole "dindu nuffin" crap going.
Yeah, I know this is a thread for people to keep watching, but I do want to get back to it. I just hope there's at least more depth to the story if they're going to turn this crap into another piece of liberal propaganda. There are many more examples than the faunus, but I'm honestly tired and I have other things in mind right now.
