I actually like your illustration of a seal.. it's very simple, yet very effective.. it doesn't have to be complicated to be good
I am a retired professional illustrator, so I never mince words or beat around the bush when it comes to anything artistic or creative
If I tell you I like it, that means I actually like it...
If something sucks, I will be the first person to mention it
It's not exactly rembrandt, but I enjoy it because it's cute and effective and I can tell it's a seal

Many many years ago, my friends and I left a 3-day Rave, and we went to my friend's apartment to get stoned and listen to some trance before fucking some girls that came with us.
(my wife was with us, and she helped us fuck the other two rave girls)
100 % true....
I used some of those cheap Crayola water based magic markers and a 65¢ piece of children's poster board to draw this picture of a billy goat Satan
(of course, I am an atheist so I don't believe in God or Jesus or the devil, so it was just a tongue-in-cheek goofy doodle I made for no particular reason)

I drew this with a ballpoint pen on a piece of crumpled typing paper.. it's really dark, but that was intentional.
The guy on the left is an Italian, and the guy on the right is a Jẹw..
the idea was this:
Everyday, these two lonely old fossils go to the park and sit on the bench and listen to Children laughing on the swing sets and birds chirping in the breeze...
But because the Jẹwish guy doesn't like Italians, and the Italian guy doesn't like Jẹws, they sit silently, not saying a word for hours at a time, simply sharing the park bench as they watch Life go by and occasionally feed the pigeons.
Then, at 4:30 p.m. sharp, they each get up to leave, and say "Seeya Tomorrow, Lou"... "yeah, Mort, I'll see you tomorrow"....
Becausetheyare all they have
"PALS"

One day I had stopped by a former clients office, Michael Morrison who was a Las Vegas La Costa Nostra pornography and strip club entrepreneur....
He wasn't there, so I pulled out a piece of paper and a pencil and left this calling card, asking him to give me a ring.

This is another ballpoint pen doodle on a piece of typing paper....
I was just bored, but I don't stay bored for long, because my mind is always capable of occupying itself somehow.
On this particular day, I felt like drawing a young Elvis fan, laying in the front yard of Graceland, reading a bunch of tabloid Elvis magazines...
I would strongly suggest you move away from the computer, and teach yourself how to illustrate with pen and paper, or maybe even pencil for that matter
You can still continue working with digital art, but you'll never reach a point of satisfaction until you have trained yourself in the art of hand drawn illustration

By training yourself how to become comfortable with fluid lines on paper, you will enhance your ability to execute digital illustrations at a more acceptable level.. Trust me.. pick up a pen and paper

I used to live in a house called DISGRACELAND in Atlanta....
the house had a "Y-Shaped stairwell", where halfway up, it split off into two different directions, to the left was mine and my wife's master bedroom, and to the right were my children's bedrooms...
I painted this 16 ft tall mural of an Aphrodite statue in the stairwell.
I just used simple latex interior house paint.. obviously, my wife took this picture before I was finished with the mural.
After you have become comfortable with pen and paper, force yourself to become comfortable with paint

Nothing you draw needs to be "perfect"....
perfection is never attainable so don't waste your time trying to attain it
It's a lot like dancing.. if you are worried what other people think, you'll never learn to let go and just have fun

It's perfectly acceptable to create nonsensical garbage.. who gives a fuck if other people like it or not? The purpose of creating is to keep yourself occupied, the cure to boredom

it doesn't matter if it's perfect or not

I still have friends I met back in when I was 12 years old.. we still talk and hang out to this very day....
that's been decades so far
recently, my old buddy Kevin found THIS in his parent's house...
I used sheep colored pencils on an inexpensive sheet of Bristol Board to draw this back when I was 16
I drew it at his house, back when he still lived with his parents.. I immediately forgot about it, and it ended up in a closet, where it remained for over 40 years
Oddly enough, when Kevin found it, the lower right corner had been sliced off somehow....
I still like it, even though somebody cut the corner off of it for some reason

While you are teaching yourself effective illustration by hand with pen and paper (or pencil) you will notice improvements in your digital art as well...
Back before IBM platform PCS could even handle colors, I taught myself how to do 3D modeling, animation and rendering on my old Commodore Amiga....
When my son was 6 years old, I taught him how to work with 3D modeling as well.. he created this at age 6

While becoming familiar with
APPLIED ARTS(using your hands to draw or paint) you will increase the quality of your digital graphics as well
And while you familiarize yourself with hand drawn illustrations on paper, you might as well simultaneously become familiar with applying paint

THE BEST ADVICE YOU'LL GET:
DO NOT TRY TO DRAW ANIME
DO NOT TRY TO DRAW MANGA
It's the most unoriginal, cliche, and quite honestly UGLY crappy low quality bullshit washed up tired worthless genre of Art in history
It all looks exactly the same, inherently.. it's garbage
It's such a cliche tired trend, and it sucked 30 years ago, so obviously it sucks much worse these days
Familiarize yourself with things you are unfamiliar with, and never follow any trends, because you'll never stand out of the crowd by trying to imitate everybody else
ANIME = GARAGE
UGLY, childish, stupid, EFFEMINATE, gay as fuck, SISSY garbage

People who try to master anime will never learn how to draw effectively, because they will forever be trapped in an effeminate creepy Loop of talentless imitation with no intrinsic value whatsoever.
It is even more embarrassing than letting niggersfuck your mouth
