Well anons, I'm about to do a virtual zoom meeting for court. Simple misdemeanor class b case. Won't go into details but it's nothing violent. Happened a few months ago but the courts have been wack. It's a hearing. They took my pre-trial diversion application a while ago. Lawyer updated me yesterday and said they're still reviewing. Hoping they just reset the case again until they come to a conclusion.
Wish me luck guys. So God help me.

Nah it wasn't shoplifting, but that is pretty incredible. Have you been tried for shoplifting multiple times? I got charged with a Mis B for shoplifting when I was a juvenile. They just gave me 24 hrs community service and they expunged it.

In this case, my friends broke into a college dorm they thought was their friend's and called me over to hang out there some times as a spare room. The owner of the room returned weeks later and called the cops. It was not actually this friend-guy's dorm, it was some random dude that had been doing an ROTC deal and was out for awhile. I left a pizza receipt there on accident and found me out that way. I'm pretty retarded. Thinking back on it, we should've just stayed in our own rooms. We didn't even steal anything cause there was like, nothing there but bed sheets and pencils.

is this really a thing now? would expect them to at least use some secure services and not some generic consumer trash that is known for bad security

yeah it's a pretty strange feeling. sitting in front of a laptop, waiting for the judge to call your name, your lawyer speaking for you. after all is said and done, you just do what you're told to do. in my case, my hearing date keeps getting reset. the pre-trial diversion office hasn't looked over my application.
