There are a couple active imageboards still out there. OneSixTwo, Soyjak Party, 8chan moe, Sportschan, Endchan just to name a few.
Unfortunately anything really associated with old 8chan is dead because drama caused people to splinter into hundreds of different sites. It's all shit. There probably could've been a true successor to 8chan if people just decided on a single site to stick with instead making 5 different new homes for /v/ and /b/. Too many are obsessed with preserving site culture and gatekeeping so much that they'll never become popular.
