when I was a little kid (12 years old and taking LSD every day) I started "getting backstage" to EVERY CONCERT for free by painting one-of-a-kind Elvis Portraits...

I've seen HUNDREDS of concerts...

literally....

I've partied with Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney & Mick Jagger...

I've seen SO MANY CONCERTS

Live performances are completely different than listening to the album

You'd be surprised.. some of the best albums are by bands who SUCK IN CONCERT...

Usually, those records are produced by musical geniuses, but the band itself is not particularly very good...

the PRODUCER takes the shitty band and makes it sound good by mixing it correctly and creatively...

Believe it or not, the best life performance I've ever seen in my life was by the band DEVO

If you know anything about DEVO, you'd realize it's ironic, because you wouldn't imagine them being a very good live performance...

(they were AMAZING!!!)

anyway........

When you listen to this live performance by David bowie, it's actually amazing how much better it sounds than the fucking album version

The version on the album is it nearly as good as this live performance in a TV studio

IMPRESSIVE SHIT

You might want to listen to it again

This time pay close attention to the chiming guitar, the piano, the drums...

and Bowie singing LIVE.....

(Believe it or not, I painted a portrait of Elvis for David Bowie, and I went backstage with him on his spiders from Mars tour, at the Omni International in Atlanta Georgia)

Bowie was weird AND gracious in person... very classy AND VERY WEIRD...

Just the way I like it.. I've never been interested in normal people. I'm only interested in weirdos
