Can I just say one thing….

TRUMP SHOULD RESCHEDULE MARIJUANA ON 4/20! Effectively letting the states choose their own path. Even though the states pretty much have to this point, technically they aren't supposed to under federal law - it just hasn't been fully enforced.

I understand that not as many studies have taken place in the USA about long-term effects as some would like, but it's time. There is no reason for marijuana to be in the same category as heroin or classified as more dangerous than cocaine. The current schedule is a joke and it does more harm than good as it diminishes the terrible effects of other - seriously bad - drugs.

There are plenty of studies that show most concerns about marijuana are overstated or sometimes completely false. Most studies are by countries where they are not hampered by their own government to undertake such studies like in the USA.

Yes, there is alot of money to be made in the industry so there is some disinformation in favor as well. But for many years, you have to understand all of the money was going towards keeping it illegal *cough* *big tobacco* *cough* *big beer*.

While some studies try to point out negatives, no one is denying that marijuana is better than alcohol and/or tobacco for one's health as well as the social repercussions associated.

It is unfortunate that crazy Bernie Bro types are the face of marijuana legalization. They were crazy with or without marijuana. There are plenty of conservatives that use marijuana. A HUGE majority wants it legalized for 21+. An even bigger percentage think it should be made available for medical use. Either way, it should not be scheduled as it currently is.

Trump should take this issue away from the crazy Democrats as you know a percentage of people will vote solely on this issue. I am guessing anywhere from 2-7% of the electorate. It is probably closer to 7% for those states that still have it 100% illegal and closer to 2% for those state where it is already legalized. Though I do not think it will be enough for the Dems to beat Trump as I see it as being a landslide - especially if the storm comes soon, he should still make it more of a landslide and reschedule it already to the same level as alcohol and tobacco. At the least, I bet some will look at Trump in a different light.

In fact, marijuana (and how online poker was treated) to me was my 'red pill' almost a decade ago. It wasn't a red pill that made me conservative - I am mostly a libertarian leaning centrist and HUGE Trump fan. It was a the 'red pill' on seeing how our government will systematically keep an industry down and not for the protection of the people but usually more because of the greed of a dirty few at the top. Again, it's time.

If anyone has any points to add in the negative or positive, have at it. I already know most of the negative talking points, as a preamble to that- truly ask if it causation or correlation (which most of the negative points get incorrect).

We’ve got a lot of individuals in the prison system, especially federal prison, and what happened is with the First Step Act, a lot of people who were incarcerated were able to actually have an avenue to come home.

I know a couple of individuals in prison now … because I did eight and a half years in federal prison. By me being in the prison and knowing, I understand how important prison reform is. You see, a lot of times those of us on the street, we don’t think about the people in prison.

So you had a young lady who got pardoned after 25 years — [she] had a life sentence — and we’ve got to look at that and we’ve got to say, “You know what? That’s growth.”

Another thing about prison reform, when you look at the mandatory minimums and a lot of things that the federal prison has that’s keeping people incarcerated, we’ve got a lot of work to do, and we’ve got to move the needle.

I love the opportunity zones. That’s a good thing that allows us to invest in underserved communities that give us opportunity to provide jobs and to build up our communities.

The Democratic Party has played with the black vote for so long. The Democratic Party has used the black vote for their advantage and they have done nothing in return. The cities are still in a dilapidated state. You have a lot of corruption. You still have a lot of dirty politics, so we feel as though since the Democratic Party is not doing what they’re supposed to do then there needs to be a mass exit out of the Democratic Party. We need to start talking about conservative values.

NYSE Announces Disaster-Recovery Test Due To Virus Fears

In a somewhat shocking sounding move, given administration officials' ongoing effort to calm the public fears over the spread of Covid-19, The New York Stock Exchange has announced it will commence disaster-recovery testing in its Cermak Data Center on March 7 amid coronavirus concern, Fox Business reports in a tweet, citing the exchange.

“During this test, NYSE will facilitate electronic Core Open and Closing Auctions as if the 11 Wall Street trading floor were unavailable,” Fox says.

To reiterate, the disaster recovery plan is to check the process that would occur if Covid-19 'public distancing' proposals come into effect and effectively shut the trading floor?!

What caught An’s attention was how health authorities were struggling to track the woman’s movements before she was tested. “That’s their culture, they have to hide their movements, and that’s why I guessed she was with Shincheonji,” An, 27, said in an interview, referring to the Shincheonji Church of Jesus.

Patient 31 attended services at the church’s branch in the southeastern city of Daegu this month, staying for two hours each time, before testing positive on Feb. 18. The South Korean disease control chief Jeong Eun-kyeong said the church’s services, where thousands of people sit on the floor, shoulder-to-shoulder, for hours, could have contributed to the surges. “You would be 5 centimeters away from the person who sits next to you, and have to say ‘Amen’ after every sentence the pastor speaks - it’s the best environment for the virus to spread,” said An, who is now a theology student. In a media interview, Patient 31 said she did not refuse to be tested. But health authorities said she sought care at a traditional medicine hospital in Daegu after a minor car accident, where a medical worker who treated her later tested positive for the virus. While running a fever, she went to a buffet at a hotel and the church services.

Shincheonji is in the biggest crisis in its 36-year history, as hundreds of members have tested positive for the virus, SARS-CoV-2. All of its 210,000 known followers are being tested amid unprecedented scrutiny from authorities and the public. After initial resistance, the church released the addresses of 1,100 facilities around the country - 82 churches and 1,018 “affiliates,” - and asked the public to avoid making “groundless criticism.” It was the “biggest victim of the virus,” it said. Calls by Reuters to the church’s headquarters seeking comment went unanswered.

During a visit to the Daegu branch on Friday, a man who identified himself as a member said he was the only one there and told Reuters that “all of our 9,000 members are taking self-quarantine measures in compliance with the government instruction.” He said the building was disinfected twice last week.

An Indiana-based law firm is suing Allegheny County, Pennsylvania in federal court for having hundreds of dead people registered to vote in the upcoming 2020 election, among other bizarre irregularities.

The lawsuit alleges that some 1,600 dead people are registered to vote in the 2020 election, while almost 1,200 people are registered to vote without a date of birth listed, and some have even listed the 1800s as their birth years, all violations of the National Voter Registration Act of 1993.

“One registrant is stated as being born in ‘June 1800,’ the same year Thomas Jefferson won eight of Pennsylvania’s 15 Electoral College votes against President John Adams,” the lawsuit filed against Allegheny County, Pennsylvania by the Public Interest Legal Foundation claims.

The nonprofit law firm behind the suit is run by a former member of President Donald Trump’s now-disbanded Voter Fraud Commission.

In addition, almost 200 of the county’s 900,000 registered voters have no date of registration, and 35 have unclear or out-of-state addresses. After Two-Hour Trading Halt, Toronto Exchanges Open With Plunge

Canadian stocks plunged, playing catchup to the rout in global markets after a technical glitch closed the main exchange two hours early in the midst of Thursday’s meltdown.

The S&P/TSX Composite Index fell as much as 4.8% Friday to 15,813.03, the biggest intraday drop in almost five years. The materials index took the biggest hit with a 5% drop as companies linked to the global economy slumped and gold tumbled on profit taking.

Canadian stocks had been holding up fairly well at the start of the cornavirus outbreak but with the economic impact of the virus spreading, the nation’s market has crumpled.

“Our concern is that the disruption of the supply chain doesn’t just get switched on again,” Jay Jacobs, head of research and strategy at Global X Management said in an interview at Bloomberg’s Toronto office. It can take weeks to get back on track and that’s why the coronavirus is especially detrimental to the miners and resource companies that populate Canadian exchanges. Toronto followed other global markets down with U.S. equities posting their seventh straight loss and investors rushing into the safety of government bond markets.

The Toronto Stock Exchange said Thursday’s interruption was caused by a system capacity issue within the messaging technology component of TMX Group Ltd.’s trading engine. The high volume of messages received — such as buy and sell orders, and requests to modify orders were at the root of the issue, the company said in an emailed statement. The bourse said it has undertaken necessary measures to mitigate the risk of recurrence and that the incident was not the result of a cyber-security attack.
